DataISource builds private AI for industrial companies. Each customer runs its own model, so sensitive pricing, supplier, and negotiation data stays in-house and out of anyone else’s training.
Our first product, DataProcur, brings procurement into one platform: finding suppliers, requests for quotes, negotiations, contracts, analytics, and supply-chain risk monitoring. It also preserves what a company learns from past purchasing, so decisions and supplier relationships aren’t lost when people move on. Next, we’re extending the same private AI into operations, sales, finance, and strategy.
We’re based in Macomb County, Michigan, and backed by a $2M first funding round. We’re also supported by NVIDIA Inception, AWS Activate, and J.P. Morgan’s Innovation Economy.
We’re preparing our first pilots with manufacturers across automotive, aerospace, construction, food, and chemicals. Our co-founders bring nearly 30 years in the automotive supply chain and a decade of building production AI and machine-learning systems.
The RoleAs our Lead Computer Vision & AI Systems Engineer, you’ll design, build, and run the AI systems at the core of the DataISource platform.
A big part of the job is memory engineering for our AI agents. You’ll design the knowledge graph that holds each customer’s procurement history and supplier relationships, so our agents and tools can build on them.
You’ll also build computer vision systems that track and record activity and support safety and security in industrial settings.
What You’ll Do- Help to build the knowledge graph and data pipelines behind our agentic AI, from processing through storage and lifecycle management.
- Architect end-to-end AI pipelines for data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring, built for reliability, performance, and security.
- Develop, optimize, and deploy computer vision models for tracking, recording, correct sequential chain tracking, and safety and security use cases.
- Run AI workloads in production, including private deployments where customer data stays under the customer’s control.
- Diagnose and fix performance, reliability, and integration issues across models, services, and infrastructure.
- Turn requirements from procurement and other industrial workflows into robust technical designs, working closely with product, data, and infrastructure teams.
- Set our standards for documentation, testing, and CI/CD, mentor other engineers, and evaluate new technologies as the platform grows.
- Experience leading the design and delivery of AI or computer vision systems in production, including mentoring other engineers.
- Hands-on experience with computer vision frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or OpenCV.
- Experience deploying ML models at scale with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and model-serving platforms.
- Experience building agentic AI systems, including tool use and memory.
- Data engineering experience across processing, storage, and lifecycle management.
- Strong systems, infrastructure-as-code, AWS, and troubleshooting skills for AI workloads, from servers and cloud services to deployments and operational tooling.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Fluent professional English, written and spoken.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with knowledge graphs or graph databases.
- C++ for performance-critical vision workloads.
- Experience deploying AI in private or on-premise environments.
- A background in industrial domains or enterprise software, especially procurement, manufacturing, or operations.
This is a chance to help build DataISource from the ground up. As a lead on our core engineering team, you’ll shape our architecture, set technical direction, and influence how we build and ship.
We believe the people building the company should share in its success, so this role includes meaningful equity. You’ll own a real stake in what you create, and as DataISource grows, so does the value of your contribution.
What this means for you:
- Ownership from day one. The decisions you make will shape our product and engineering culture for years to come.
- A seat at the table. You’ll work closely with leadership on product strategy, technical priorities, and hiring.
- Equity that matters. You’ll get a genuine ownership stake, so the company’s success is your success.
- Room to grow. As the team scales, you’ll help build it and lead it.
The role pays $3000 USD per month, plus equity in DataISource. As an early-stage company, we weight compensation toward equity.
- Contract: full-time, remote, independent contractor agreement, paid monthly in USD. We have years in monetary backing, so job security for the medium term is assured for the right talent.
- Time zone: required overlap, e.g., at least 4 hours with US Eastern Time
