  • Experience of working with senior leaders to produce organisation-wide plans
  • Significant experience of using Excel to track business plans or budgets, including complex financial information
Please note, all applications should be made directly via our careers portal.

About the role

You'll play a central role in connecting strategy, planning and delivery across the organisation, helping ensure SYMCA's priorities are translated into clear plans that support impactful outcomes for South Yorkshire.

You will:
  • Lead the development and delivery of SYMCA's corporate planning processes, including production of the annual corporate plan.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, Finance, HR and colleagues across the organisation to align priorities, resources and delivery plans.
  • Provide expert insight and analysis to support business planning, funding decisions and effective organisational decision-making.
  • Challenge and support teams to develop robust, achievable plans that reflect changing priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Help strengthen performance reporting and organisational oversight, giving leaders clear visibility of progress against key objectives.

About you

You'll be a confident planning professional who enjoys bringing people together around a shared vision. You'll combine strategic thinking, strong analytical skills and excellent stakeholder management to help shape organisational priorities and deliver lasting impact.

You will:
  • Bring significant experience of corporate and business planning, translating strategic ambitions into practical, deliverable plans.
  • Have experience working with senior leaders and influencing stakeholders to build alignment, clarity and shared ownership of priorities.
  • Be comfortable working with complex information, budgets and data, ensuring decisions are informed by accurate analysis and insight.
  • Be an excellent communicator, able to produce high-quality written material for a range of audiences, including formal governance settings.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a collaborative, inclusive and outcomes-focused approach.
