Lead Data Engineer

We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to design and deliver modern data platforms using Snowflake. You’ll lead technical architecture, build scalable data solutions and help customers turn business requirements into production-ready data and AI platforms.

Alongside delivery, you’ll contribute to presales, support client workshops and mentor engineers across a growing data practice.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable Snowflake data platforms and migrations.
• Build production data pipelines using SQL, Python, Snowpark and dbt.
• Develop AI/ML use cases using Snowflake Cortex and Snowpark ML.
• Own data modelling, governance, security, performance and cost optimisation.
• Automate deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Integrate enterprise data sources such as SAP, CRM and streaming platforms.
• Support presales through technical workshops, PoCs and solution design.
• Coach colleagues and contribute to technical best practices.
  
  

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years’ experience in data engineering, ideally within consulting.
• Proven experience delivering Snowflake projects in a technical lead or key engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning and cost optimisation.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience with dbt and modern data modelling.
• Experience with production data integration and orchestration tools.
• Hands-on AWS or Azure experience, including CI/CD and IaC.
• Exposure to AI/ML use cases, ideally using Snowflake Cortex.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent German and English.
  
  

Nice to have: SnowPro certification, Apache Iceberg, Streamlit, Coalesce or SAP BW transformation experience.
