This is your chance to be part of the next generation Strategy, Insights, and Analytics team of internal consultants to all teams across Hilton! The team ensures that Hilton's strategy and customer experience are informed by analytics and customer insights combining technical talent with industry expertise to guide progress towards Hilton's goals. As a Lead Data Scientist reporting to the Director of Data Science, you will support R&D projects in GenAI, pricing, forecasting, inventory optimization, and customer-centric personalization.

What you'll do during a typical day:

  • Lead the research, documentation, development, and measurement of data science models in both testing and production environments.
  • Communicate information to stakeholders with varying levels of technical acumen to ensure data-driven perspectives drive roadmap definition and decision making.
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale data science applications based on insights derived from data, industry trends, and research findings.
  • Write production grade code and build maintainable machine learning workflows.
  • Stay abreast with relevant technical developments and industry state-of-the-arts to provide unique and innovative ideas to data science solutions.
  • Operate with autonomy and proactiveness while knowing when to ask for help or input from stakeholders and other team members.

How you'll collaborate with others:

  • Collaborate with business, engineering, and technology teams to understand Hilton data and business context and provide solutions in the form of data science models and algorithms.
  • Partner with engineering and technology teams to design and deploy data science pipelines and applications in production in an efficient, scalable manner
  • Partner with other teams to access data elements, understand the data being analyzed and identify improvement opportunities for the data ingestion process.

Projects you'll take ownership of:

  • Research and development of models and algorithms in various areas, including forecasting, pricing, inventory management, supply chain management, content and personalization.

What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning or data science solutions.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience researching, building, implementing, testing, and measuring performance of data science models in production.
  • Experience writing production quality software
  • Experience working within modern software development practices including CI/CD pipelines, version control, code review and containerized applications.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python, including data science Python packages (e.g. Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Prophet, LightGBM, TensorFlow/PyTorch)

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning or data science solutions.
  • Experience building large-scale data science applications, high-volume data pipelines, application architecture, API framework and tooling and deploying them in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience working with LLMs, retrieval systems, or generative AI applications.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry.

Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package to support their mental and physical well-being, so they can Thrive personally and professionally. The pay range for this role is $110,000 – $160,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
