In this role, you will:

• Design and architect robust infrastructure as code solutions using terraform that ensure scalable secure and resilient environments for complex payer domain applications while aligning with enterprise standards
• Develop and maintain reusable terraform modules and templates that enable consistent environment provisioning across hybrid cloud platforms improving delivery speed and reducing manual configuration effort
• Implement comprehensive version control branching and promotion strategies for infrastructure as code assets to ensure traceability auditability and smooth collaboration across cross functional engineering teams
• Optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for infrastructure deployments by integrating testing validation and policy checks that minimize defects and stabilize releases for payer systems
• Collaborate closely with application teams security specialists and operations staff to translate payer business requirements into reliable infrastructure designs that enhance member experience and support regulatory compliance
• Perform detailed environment assessments and capacity planning activities to anticipate growth trends in payer workloads and proactively propose infrastructure and terraform enhancements that improve performance and cost efficiency
• Establish configuration management and state management practices for terraform including remote state handling and workspace strategies that support safe multi environment operations and reduce risk of configuration drift
• Drive adoption of monitoring logging and observability tools across infrastructure components so teams can quickly detect diagnose and remediate issues impacting claims processing eligibility checks and other payer services
• Create clear documentation runbooks and architecture diagrams that explain infrastructure as code solutions operational procedures and hybrid deployment models enabling smooth onboarding and knowledge transfer for technical teams
• Conduct regular reviews of infrastructure security posture focusing on access control encryption network segmentation and compliance requirements in the payer domain and implement terraform based controls to reduce vulnerabilities
• Coordinate with platform and cloud providers to evaluate new services features and optimizations then integrate selected capabilities into terraform blueprints that improve resilience availability and scalability of payer workloads
• Guide teams through incident analysis and root cause investigations related to infrastructure and pipelines using data driven insights to refine terraform configurations and deployment patterns for greater operational stability
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that streamline infrastructure provisioning reduce manual work and reinforce a culture of automation and reliability thereby supporting the company mission to deliver efficient and trustworthy healthcare payer services

What you need to have to be considered:

• Possess extensive hands on expertise in infrastructure as code development with terraform including authoring advanced modules managing state and orchestrating complex multi tier environments in hybrid setups
• Demonstrate deep understanding of payer domain processes such as claims adjudication member enrollment and billing operations and apply this knowledge when designing infrastructure that supports secure and compliant data flows
• Bring strong experience with source control tools build systems and pipeline orchestration platforms enabling robust integration of terraform workflows into automated deployment processes for application and infrastructure changes
• Exhibit solid grasp of networking security and identity concepts including subnets routing firewalls role based access and secret management to ensure that all terraform defined resources adhere to enterprise and regulatory controls
• Show proven capability in troubleshooting infrastructure issues across cloud and on premise environments using logs metrics and traces to quickly isolate problems and implement durable fixes within infrastructure as code baselines
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills when working in a hybrid model engaging with distributed teams stakeholders and business partners to clarify requirements and explain complex infrastructure solutions in accessible terms
• Display familiarity with modern container platforms orchestration tools and related ecosystem components so that terraform and supporting automation can efficiently provision and manage platforms hosting critical payer applications

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68K – 140K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
