Freelance Embedded Software Engineer / Technical Lead

Remote within Europe, ideally Germany-based

Occasional travel to HR near Hamburg

Recruiting for a senior Embedded Software Engineer / Technical Lead for a long-term assignment with a major international engineering organisation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with real ownership of embedded architecture and engineering direction, rather than purely feature development.

Key experience:

• Expert-level Embedded C

• Firmware architecture, BSPs, bootloaders & device drivers

• Hardware-level debugging - SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, Ethernet

• Resource-constrained / real-time embedded systems

• Secure boot, signing & firmware security

• Embedded CI/CD, automated testing & HIL

• Architecture ownership and technical leadership

• Mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards
