We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join a large Wealth Management firm operating in a broker-dealer model.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in secure backend services, API design and development, TDD, BDD, Single Page Application design, and full-stack understanding, along with a willingness to study legacy code and continuously learn.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain code
  • Build back-end microservices and REST APIs
  • Perform unit testing
  • Conduct code reviews
  • Follow best practices, including code review, unit testing, and CI
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies
  • Contribute to estimation and planning sessions
  • Mentor other developers and collaborate with peers
  • Work closely with the offshore team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field
  • 6+ years of development work experience
  • Hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
  • Knowledge of APIs and microservices architecture
  • Background in log management and analysis
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and SQL
  • Familiarity with secure backend services and API design and development
  • Understanding of TDD, BDD, and Single Page Application design and development
  • Competency in full-stack application design and data modeling
  • Skills in DevOps, QA, and development task estimation
  • English proficiency at a B2+ level

Nice to have

  • Financial Services background in wealth management
  • Exposure to ReactJS
  • Experience with Java microservice infrastructure
  • Capability to develop application documentation, including architecture documents
