Job Description Summary

Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office 3 days a week at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Job Description


As a Lead Engineer in the RIA and Custody Services (RCS) development team, you will be developing and managing core services and API’s which form the building blocks of some of the most critical financial and wealth management applications of the firm. Members of this experienced engineering team are known for their engineering excellence and set the trends in the firm for others to follow on architecture, design and development of low latency and highly scalable solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes complex system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between affected components and sub systems.
  • Leverage AI-powered development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Amazon Bedrock, and emerging AI technologies throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to improve productivity, quality, consistency, and delivery speed.
  • Recommend the development of new solutions or the effective reuse of existing components and services.
  • Lead assigned projects by coordinating cross-functional teams, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring successful delivery across multiple locations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to address business needs, solve technical challenges, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, software engineering practices, cloud technologies, and AI-driven development approaches.
  • Participates in system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Assess requirements related to reporting, security, performance, scalability, and infrastructure to support effective solution design.
  • Participate in system design, development, testing, validation, deployment, and documentation activities.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and expertise to resolve complex programming and design challenges.
  • Author and review technical specifications, architecture documents, process flows, and design artifacts.
  • Review testing outcomes, document test activities, and ensure timely remediation of identified defects.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to minimize rework and project delays.
  • Support production applications, including participation in on-call rotations when required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience / Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five (5) to Eight (8) years of professional software engineering or application development experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade distributed applications and services.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Bedrock, and similar platforms throughout the SDLC.
  • Strong experience applying AI-assisted development techniques for code generation, testing, documentation, automation, and software modernization initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and scripting languages to build automation solutions, AI-assisted workflows, and developer productivity tools.
  • Hands on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring, RESTful API, SOAP Services, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, Microservices, Angular.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering.
  • Strong experience in code optimization and tuning.
  • Experience translating requirements into low level technical design.
  • Experience in testing frameworks JUnit, TestNG , Mockito or Spock.
  • Competent in design and implementation for reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Competent in software engineering tools and best practices.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile SDMs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and handling of on call responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge in using CI/CD, DevOps procedures for building/deploying applications.

Nice to have:


  • Experience in Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks.
  • Knowledge/experience with cloud concepts and implementation.

Licenses/Certifications:


  • Preferred to have any certification in machine learning/python or AI technologies.
