What you’ll do As a Lead Maritime Structures Designer , you will provide technical leadership across the delivery of complex maritime and coastal infrastructure projects , guiding multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and practical solutions for ports, harbours, wharves, jetties, marine terminals, defence facilities and coastal assets. Based in Brisbane or Perth, you will lead the coordination of maritime structural design packages, ensuring high-quality, integrated project outcomes that meet client, stakeholder, schedule, cost and technical requirements across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and our Global Design Centres, you will be responsible for leading BIM and digital engineering delivery, ensuring high-quality design documentation and model development using Revit and associated digital engineering platforms. You will: Advise clients and project teams on the design and delivery of complex maritime and coastal infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design and construction support. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, practical and constructible solutions. Deliver high-quality design packages, including BIM modelling, documentation, technical reviews and design verification to ensure compliance with client requirements, standards and relevant codes. Champion digital engineering and smart delivery practices, leveraging data-centric design, model-based workflows, automation and advanced digital tools to enhance project outcomes. Mentor and support designers and modellers across local and global teams, fostering technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams while supporting project planning, resource management and successful delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects. What you’ll bring Relevant engineering, design or drafting qualifications and significant experience delivering structural design solutions within marine or industrial structures sectors. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including development and management of intelligent structural models and project documentation. Strong experience in the design and delivery of maritime infrastructure, including reinforced concrete, steel and pile-supported marine structures across both greenfield and brownfield environments. Experience delivering upgrades, modifications and rehabilitation projects within operational port and industrial environments, balancing technical excellence with practical delivery outcomes. Strong understanding of digital engineering and BIM best practice, including project information management, BIM execution planning and data-driven delivery. Experience working on Defence infrastructure projects is highly regarded. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance as required by project need. Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, build trusted client relationships and mentor emerging talent.
