Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Process Engineer to support a major FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) bid. This role will be responsible for leading all process engineering activities during the proposal phase, ensuring that the process design basis, technical solutions, and process deliverables are developed in accordance with client requirements, industry standards, and Wood's engineering practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the process design for a large-scale offshore production facility, supporting bid strategy, technical proposal development, engineering estimates, risk assessments, execution planning, and client engagement activities. Process Engineering Leadership Lead all process engineering activities supporting the FPSO bid and proposal development. Act as the focal point for process engineering within the bid team and coordinate closely with Engineering Management, Discipline Leads, Proposal Managers, and Client representatives. Develop and maintain the process design basis, process philosophies, design criteria, and key process deliverables required for bid submission. Provide technical leadership and guidance to process engineers involved in the proposal effort. Ensure process engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards. FPSO Process Design Development Lead the development of process solutions for FPSO topsides facilities. Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs), Heat and Material Balances, and Process Design Basis documents. Lead the preparation and review of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Ensure process designs consider operability, maintainability, safety, constructability, weight, space constraints, and offshore operating requirements. Support the evaluation of production capacity requirements, turndown scenarios, and field life considerations. Participate in the optimisation of topsides facilities to achieve technical and commercial objectives. Technical Assurance and Safety Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, client specifications, and project requirements. Support and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and other process safety studies. Apply Safety by Design principles throughout development of the FPSO process design. Identify process risks, operational hazards, and opportunities for design improvement. Ensure process engineering deliverables undergo appropriate checking, review, and approval processes. Promote technical excellence and continuous improvement throughout the engineering team. Interface Management Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Structural, Marine, Safety, and Commissioning disciplines. Ensure process requirements are effectively communicated and incorporated into equipment design and package specifications. Interface with equipment vendors and technology licensors where applicable. Support integration between topsides facilities, hull systems, marine systems, utilities, and subsea infrastructure. Ensure process engineering requirements are incorporated into procurement, fabrication, commissioning, and operational philosophies. Digital Systems and Deliverables Ensure process engineering deliverables are maintained within project document management systems. Support the development and maintenance of simulation models, performance calculations, and engineering databases. Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of deliverables, engineering progress, and resource utilisation. Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the bid process. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable. Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Offshore Production Facilities, or FPSO developments. Demonstrated experience supporting Concept, FEED, EPC, EPCI, or EPCM projects. Previous involvement in FPSO project bids, proposals, FEED studies, and offshore project execution is highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Strong experience in offshore process facilities and FPSO topsides design. Extensive knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems, gas compression, oil treatment, produced water treatment, water injection, and utility systems. Proven experience preparing and reviewing key process engineering deliverables. Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, or equivalent. Strong understanding of offshore safety requirements and process safety management principles. Commercial awareness and ability to develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions. Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams in complex project environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
