Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical & ICT Engineer to support a major FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) bid . This role will provide technical leadership and coordination for all Electrical, Telecommunications, and ICT systems associated with the development of a world-class offshore production facility. The successful candidate will lead the development of electrical power generation and distribution philosophies, telecommunications and ICT architecture, equipment specifications, engineering execution strategies, and technical deliverables required to support a competitive FPSO proposal. Electrical & ICT Leadership Coordinate electrical and communication system requirements with the Project Engineering Manager, Discipline Leads, Proposal Manager, Client, and key stakeholders. Ensure all electrical and ICT solutions are safe, reliable, operable, maintainable, and aligned with project and client requirements. Support development of execution strategies, engineering plans, resource estimates, schedules, and proposal deliverables. FPSO Electrical Systems Engineering Lead the development of FPSO electrical design philosophies and infrastructure for offshore operations. Develop and review electrical system concepts including: Power generation systems High-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems Emergency power systems UPS systems Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Motor Control Centres (MCCs) Electrical load lists Earthing and bonding systems Lightning protection systems Hazardous area electrical installations Power management systems Ensure electrical systems support operational reliability, redundancy, safety, maintainability, and lifecycle performance objectives. Support electrical integration between FPSO topsides, hull systems, marine systems, utility systems, and vendor packages. Participate in optimisation studies aimed at reducing CAPEX, weight, and footprint while maintaining technical integrity. Telecommunications & ICT Systems Lead the development of offshore telecommunications and ICT solutions for the FPSO facility. Develop philosophies and technical requirements for: Fibre optic communication networks Structured cabling systems LAN/WAN infrastructure Offshore wireless networks PA/GA systems Telephone systems Radio communications (VHF/UHF) Marine communications systems CCTV systems Access control systems Security systems Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) interfaces Data and cyber infrastructure Ensure ICT and telecommunications systems meet offshore operational, redundancy, cybersecurity, and reliability requirements. Support system integration between FPSO facilities, onshore operational centres, drilling facilities (where applicable), and asset management platforms. Technical Assurance, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with client specifications, offshore regulations, classification society requirements, and international standards. Support hazardous area classification reviews and ensure electrical designs are suitable for offshore hazardous environments. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL studies, electrical system studies, and safety reviews. Review and approve electrical and ICT engineering deliverables in accordance with project quality requirements. Promote and implement Safety by Design principles throughout all stages of proposal development. Ensure electrical and ICT systems support asset integrity, functional safety, and operational resilience requirements. Multidiscipline Interface Management Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping, Structural, Marine, Safety, Procurement, and Commissioning disciplines. Manage interfaces between electrical systems, automation systems, rotating equipment, packages, and telecommunications infrastructure. Ensure vendor equipment requirements are incorporated into electrical load assessments and system studies. Support integration of topsides facilities with hull, marine, utility, and accommodation systems. System Studies and Engineering Deliverables Lead or review key electrical studies including: Load Flow Analysis Short Circuit Studies Motor Starting Studies Relay Coordination Studies Harmonic Studies Arc Flash Assessments Power System Reliability Assessments Electrical Network Design Studies Oversee preparation and review of: Single Line Diagrams Electrical Load Lists Equipment Specifications Data Sheets Cable Schedules Telecommunications Philosophies ICT Architecture Drawings Block Diagrams Area Classification Drawings Electrical Design Basis Documents Ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with proposal schedules and quality requirements. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable. Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Offshore Facilities, or FPSO developments. Demonstrated experience supporting Concept, FEED, EPC, EPCM, or EPCI projects. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Extensive experience in offshore electrical power generation and distribution systems. Strong knowledge of FPSO electrical infrastructure and offshore operational requirements. Experience with telecommunications and ICT systems applicable to offshore facilities. Proven experience preparing and reviewing electrical and ICT engineering deliverables. Strong understanding of offshore hazardous area requirements and applicable electrical standards. Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, API, NORSOK, Class Society, and offshore industry standards. Experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, DigSILENT PowerFactory, or equivalent. Knowledge of Industrial Control Systems, telecommunications networks, and cyber security requirements within offshore environments. Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and offshore project execution requirements.
