Office location: Cambridge, UK – This position offers flexible working options. Candidates must be willing travel into our Cambridge office when required.

Are you a lead producer who can walk into a fast-moving, multi-project environment, earn trust quickly, and keep delivery moving from day one?

This is a 12-month maternity cover contract on RuneScape - one of the longest-running and most actively developed MMORPGs in the world. You’ll be joining a team with a lot in of active projects, so the ability to hold complexity without losing clarity is essential. As Lead Producer, you’ll combine hands-on delivery with line management of a small team of producers, working closely with the Principal Producer and game development teams.

This is a role for someone who brings calm to uncertainty, momentum to ambiguity, and knows how to get the best out of the people around them, all while staying close enough to the work to spot problems before they become blockers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead delivery across a broad range of concurrent projects – owning planning, risk management, scheduling and roadmap visibility, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned throughout.
  • Line manage a small team of producers, including regular 1-on-1s, coaching, performance feedback, and supporting their development as production craft practitioners.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate strategic risks, building contingency plans and scenario modelling to keep delivery on track across multiple workstreams.
  • Drive operational standards across your area – establishing and refining processes and methodologies, and facilitating alignment across departments and stakeholders.
  • Communicate with confidence at all levels, from stakeholder updates through to team facilitation, planning sessions, and cross-functional problem solving.
  • Create stability and momentum – rallying teams through uncertainty, removing blockers, and fostering a culture of clarity, collaboration and accountability.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in games production is essential - you understand the game development lifecycle and have led delivery in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Recent, hands-on producer delivery experience alongside line management - this role requires both, and the balance between them is a key part of what we’ll be assessing.
  • Demonstrated experience line managing producers, including coaching, performance feedback and developing production craft.
  • Deep expertise in delivery methodologies - you have a broad toolbox and the judgement to match the right approach to the situation.
  • Strong risk management skills, including scenario planning, dependency management, and the ability to communicate complex delivery realities clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Live service or multiplayer game experience is a strong advantage.

What we offer:

When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including:

  • Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
  • Minimum 6% Pension contributions.
  • Life Insurance.
  • Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays & the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!
