Lead Writer Apply now! We are one of the leading tech-driven media and entertainment companies, producing uplifting content in 17 languages for audiences of all ages. Known for the award-winning digital publisher boredpanda.com and the Crafty Panda DIY channel, we fight the world’s boredom at scale - reaching 160 million site views per month and 62 billion video views per year. Our team consists of around 350 creative professionals from 36 countries, with 2 offices in Vilnius, Lithuania. As Lead Writer for Fire Spike, you will guide a small team of writers and help shape the creative direction of the series. You will translate our world and characters into engaging, visually driven stories that are age-appropriate, easy to understand, and entertaining for a global audience. This is a hands-on leadership role. Alongside developing original stories, you will review submissions, provide clear and constructive feedback, work directly with writers to solve story problems, and rewrite or fix scripts when needed. You will also contribute to discussions about content strategy, analyse existing episodes to identify opportunities for improvement, and help evolve our writing process based on creative goals, production needs, and audience performance. What You Will Do: Lead and support a small team of scriptwriters, helping them develop stronger ideas, outlines, and scripts; Take a hands-on role in rewriting and fixing scripts when additional support is required; Translate the show’s character and world guidelines into a consistent writing voice suited to fast, visual storytelling; Analyze existing episodes, scripts, and audience-performance insights to identify what works, what does not, and how future content can be improved; Participate in discussions about the show’s creative direction and broader content strategy; Introduce and implement improvements to the writing workflow, helping the team work more consistently and efficiently; Help keep the writing pipeline on schedule, prioritize scripts effectively, and flag creative or production risks early; Support a digital-first release cadence of approximately 6–8 episodes per month. What We Expect: Produced writing credits on at least one preschool (ages 2–6) or children’s (ages 6–11) animated series. Experience with digital-first or fast-turnaround formats is a strong advantage; Previous experience leading, mentoring, or providing editorial direction to other writers; Strong story-editing skills and the ability to identify why a script is not working, communicate the issue clearly, and guide the writer toward a practical solution; Confidence working directly on scripts, including restructuring stories, rewriting scenes, improving character behavior, and resolving pacing or clarity issues; A visual-first approach to writing. You think in terms of action, staging, character reactions, and visual escalation, using dialogue only where it strengthens the story; A clear understanding of character-driven storytelling and the ability to maintain consistent personalities, motivations, and relationships across multiple episodes; Comfort working with performance data, audience insights, and trend-informed topics, and using them to improve stories without making them feel forced or formulaic; The ability to contribute thoughtfully to creative and content-strategy discussions while turning broader decisions into practical improvements to scripts and workflows; Confidence implementing changes within an established writing process and helping the team adapt to new creative or production requirements; A reliable, organized, and deadline-driven approach to managing multiple scripts within a high-volume production pipeline. What We Offer: We'll foster your growth: get encouraged to train your extra skills, talents or passion and apply them at work; We'll cover your health: private health and accident insurance will be at your service after the first 3 months with us; We'll celebrate your success: bonuses for weddings, childbirths, referred friends, and more; We'll give you memories: immerse yourself in themed parties, team buildings, and other events. Compensation: from €2000 to €4000 gross/month, depending on experience.
