Learning Designer – Contract
Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | ASAP Start | Until September 2027
We are currently working with a well-established global professional membership and awarding organisation to recruit an experienced Learning Designer for a long-term contract opportunity.
We're looking for someone with a strong background in educational learning design who can take existing subject matter expert (SME) content and transform it into clear, engaging and well-structured digital learning.
This is a hands-on role combining instructional design, storyboarding and eLearning development, with a focus on producing effective learning experiences rather than heavily multimedia-led solutions.
The Role:
- Transform SME-authored content into engaging, accessible digital learning modules.
- Design and develop eLearning content using Articulate Rise 360.
- Create storyboards, content documents and structured learning activities.
- Apply learning design principles to ensure content is logical, engaging and appropriate for the audience.
- Work closely with SMEs and internal stakeholders to review and refine learning materials.
- Carry out quality assurance checks to ensure consistency, accuracy and high standards of delivery.
- Manage your own workload and deliver content to agreed deadlines.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive experience in Learning Design, Instructional Design or Digital Learning Design.
- Strong, hands-on experience developing complete eLearning modules in Articulate Rise 360.
- Experience within education, higher education, further education, professional qualifications or a similar educational environment.
- Proven ability to take complex or unstructured SME content and turn it into effective digital learning.
- Strong storyboarding, content structuring and instructional design skills.
- A good understanding of pedagogy, learning objectives and learner engagement.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Your own active Articulate 360 US licence, available for use throughout the assignment (should you be successful).
Experience with Articulate Storyline, lesson planning, curriculum development, assessment design or LMS platforms would be beneficial.
Contract Details:
- Location: Fully remote
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Until 17 September 2027
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Working pattern: Expected to be full-time, with some flexibility
- Software: Contractors must provide their own active Articulate 360 US licence.
If you're an experienced Learning Designer with a strong educational background and the ability to independently design and develop high-quality digital learning, we'd love to hear from you.
