Job Title: Learning Developer Job Description The Learning Developer designs, develops, and maintains high-quality interactive learning content that supports customers, internal support teams, and sales organizations across multiple product lines. Using adult learning principles and the ADDIE framework, this role creates engaging digital learning experiences that enable successful product launches, support business initiatives, and adapt to rapidly changing environments. The Learning Developer acts as both an instructional design consultant and adult learning expert, managing multiple complex projects with minimal supervision while ensuring all content meets quality, branding, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain digital learning assets and e-learning content that support multiple product lines and audiences. Create interactive learning experiences, including microlearning modules and multimedia components, that drive engagement and knowledge retention. Support online, virtual instructor-led (vILT), and blended learning programs by developing and adapting content for different delivery formats. Update existing training content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with evolving business needs and product updates. Apply adult learning theory and instructional design best practices to create effective, learner-centered experiences. Utilize the ADDIE framework throughout the content development lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, implementation, and evaluation. Translate complex technical, scientific, and product-specific information into clear, engaging, and accessible learning experiences for diverse audiences. Develop content that promotes learner engagement, long-term retention, and practical on-the-job application. Ensure all learning content complies with Training & Development content standards, governance processes, and branding guidelines. Participate in content reviews to verify legal language, grammar, style, and consistency across learning materials. Facilitate stakeholder review cycles, gather feedback, and drive timely approvals to keep projects on schedule. Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and applicable U.S. regulatory standards relevant to training content. Partner closely with Training & Development Project Managers, Trainer/Designers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and global stakeholders to define learning objectives and requirements. Gather and validate content requirements from technical and business teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Script, edit, and refine instructional materials, including narration scripts, storyboards, and assessments, to support effective knowledge transfer. Serve as a trusted consulting resource on adult learning and instructional design best practices for stakeholders and project teams. Develop interactive learning content using rapid authoring tools and multimedia software, ensuring high-quality user experiences. Create e-learning and multimedia assets using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, Powtoon, and video production or editing platforms. Support the publishing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of learning assets within learning management systems and other learning platforms. Leverage emerging AI-enabled development tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and enhance learning experiences. Manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables and meeting deadlines. Operate independently in a fast-paced, agile environment, proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions to keep projects on track. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Business, a Scientific or Technical discipline, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in training development, including the design and delivery of learning programs. 4+ years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on adult learning and performance-based outcomes. 4+ years of experience in digital learning content creation and e-learning development. Strong understanding of adult learning theory and its application to digital and blended learning solutions. Demonstrated experience with instructional design methodologies, including curriculum development and alignment. Hands-on experience applying the ADDIE framework throughout the learning development lifecycle. Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, and similar platforms. Experience using multimedia tools such as Camtasia, Powtoon, and other audio and video editing tools to create engaging content. Familiarity with emerging AI-powered content development capabilities and willingness to incorporate them where appropriate. Experience working in regulated industries such as diagnostics, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), healthcare, or medical devices. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), document control processes, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Proven experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and cross-functional stakeholders to develop accurate and effective training. Strong instructional editing and content review capabilities, with attention to detail and consistency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to instructional design challenges and project delivery. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment. Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while consistently delivering high-quality learning solutions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience designing learning solutions specifically for diagnostics, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), healthcare, or medical device environments. Bg in a scientific or technical discipline that supports understanding of complex products and processes. Experience supporting product launches and business initiatives through targeted training programs. Comfort working with global stakeholders and distributed teams across time zones. Ability to consult on learning strategy, recommend appropriate modalities, and align solutions with business outcomes. Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to managing documentation, versions, and approvals. Interest in staying current with trends in digital learning, microlearning, multimedia, and AI-enabled development tools. Work Environment The Learning Developer works in a professional, fast-paced, and agile environment that emphasizes collaboration and high-quality output. The role involves frequent interaction with Training & Development Project Managers, Trainer/Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and global stakeholders, often across functions such as technical, scientific, and business teams. Work is primarily digital, using rapid authoring and multimedia tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Powtoon, and various audio and video editing platforms, as well as learning management systems and other learning technologies. The environment follows structured Quality Management System (QMS) processes, document control practices, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements typical of regulated industries such as diagnostics, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), healthcare, or medical devices. Projects often run concurrently with shifting timelines, requiring flexibility, strong time management, and comfort with changing priorities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
