At BidX1, we're changing the way property is bought and sold.
We're disruptors. BidX1's digital platform connects users across the globe with real estate opportunities in five markets and enables them to complete the entire purchase online, using technology developed in Dublin.
We're high-growth. BidX1 held the first online property auctions in Ireland in 2015, and by 2019 we had launched operations in Cyprus, the UK and South Africa. We've sold more than 14,000 properties to date, raising more than €3 billion, with bidders from more than 60 countries.
We're sustainable. BidX1 has been carbon neutral since 2019, joined the UN Global Compact in 2021, and submitted our first report to the Carbon Disclosure Project in 2022.
We're good at what we do. BidX1 has been recognised by Deloitte as a Best Managed Company, received backing from Enterprise Ireland, and won numerous awards including a KPMG Property Excellence Award, an Irish Times Innovation Award and an Estates Gazette Tech Award.
But that's enough about us – we'd like to meet you!
The Role
We are hiring a second Legal & Compliance Executive for our Legal & Compliance Team, based in our Dublin office and reporting to the Head of Compliance and Financial Control. You will manage data protection requests and complaints, deliver compliance training, and support the Ireland and UK auction legal process.
This is a hybrid role and requires working in our Dublin office 3 days a week, with 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
Auction Legal Support (Ireland & UK)
- Support the Ireland and UK Surveyor teams through the auction cycle, attending daily Auction Team meetings and responding to legal queries.
- Prepare and issue auction reports on Vendor Solicitor information, outstanding legal packs and outstanding legal queries.
- Review the contract, title documents, and website marketing materials for every property going to auction, and raise any concerns, queries or GDPR issues with Vendor Solicitors.
- Liaise with external Solicitors on legal pack uploads, contract amendments and addendums to website particulars, and send UK Agency Agreements to Vendors.
- Work with the external Solicitor on auction day to ensure all contracts are reviewed, signed and issued to all parties.
Data Protection, Complaints & General Compliance
- Manage BidX1's DPO inbox, handling data subject access requests (DSARs), data protection queries and potential data breaches within statutory timeframes.
- Manage customer complaints in line with the Group's complaints procedure, and prepare correspondence with regulators, including the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA).
- Liaise with external Solicitors on legal proceedings served, assist throughout the proceedings and manage the Ireland Legal Matter list.
- Support Group compliance policies and procedures, maintain compliance registers, and assist with internal reviews, audits, compliance reports and management information.
Group Compliance Training
- Develop and deliver compliance training across the Group, including induction training for new employees and jurisdiction-specific refresher training for operational teams.
- Prepare presentations, guidance notes and other training resources, keeping them current as recurring queries, internal reviews and legislative changes highlight new needs.
- Maintain training records, including attendance and completion.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in law or a diploma in legal studies, and at least two years' conveyancing experience as a legal executive.
- Working knowledge of GDPR, including handling DSARs and data protection queries.
- Strong drafting skills, including complaint responses and regulatory correspondence.
- Analytical and highly organised, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Confident and adaptable, building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Conveyancing experience across both Irish and UK property.
- Litigation or training delivery experience.
- Knowledge of AML requirements such as CDD, EDD and PEP screening, ideally with an AML or compliance qualification (e.g. ACOI or ICA).
- Experience of AML or data protection requirements in more than one jurisdiction.
Why Join Us
This is an opportunity to help shape compliance at a fast-growing, award-winning PropTech business operating across multiple jurisdictions. You'll work closely with the Head of Compliance and Financial Control, gain broad exposure across data protection, regulatory and property law, and play a visible role in how the Group manages risk.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
