Legal & Compliance Officer

Location: Hybrid - Malta (3 days per week in office)
Reporting to Chief Legal Officer

Your Impact

• Own contract drafting and review, including NDAs, confidentiality agreements, data processing agreements, amendments, extensions and termination terms.

• Review, monitor and update compliance policies, procedures, manuals and checklists in line with Maltese regulatory developments, with an employment focus.

• Liaise with local Corporate Services Providers as needed.

• Draft and review legal documents, including employment contracts, intra-group agreements, board resolutions, shareholder meeting documentation and powers of attorney.

• Monitor the application and renewal of trademark and patent licenses across multiple countries.

• Deliver GDPR training to new joiners and monitor data protection issues.

What Makes You a Fit

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in a legal, compliance or corporate services role.

• Proven experience handling immigration matters for third-country nationals.

• Deep working knowledge of GDPR and data protection compliance.

• Direct experience running office compliance, including employment documentation, corporate records and local legal processes.

• A university degree and a compliance-related qualification.

• Strong project management skills across multiple workstreams.

• Strong organisation and attention to detail.

• Comfortable working alone or as part of a small legal team.

• A habit of staying on top of paperwork before it piles up.

Nice to have

• A law degree

• Knowledge of the Maltese employment and regulatory environment.

• Experience managing trademarks and patents across multiple jurisdictions.
