BFG Tax Academy is a professional training initiative established by Business Financial Group (BFG), a U.S.-based accounting and tax services firm. The Academy focuses on providing practical, career-oriented training in U.S. taxation, tax preparation, professional communication, and tax software applications.

We are seeking a qualified Legal Consultant based in Kerala for a short-term, project-based engagement to review and finalize the Academy's student agreements and related onboarding legal documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the existing Student Enrollment Agreement and related student onboarding legal documents drafted by BFG Tax Academy.
  

• Identify potential legal risks, ambiguities, inconsistencies, and provisions requiring clarification or revision.
  

• Evaluate the documents for compliance with applicable Indian laws, including relevant contract law, consumer protection, and data privacy requirements.
  

• Review provisions relating to student enrollment, course fees, payment terms, cancellations, refunds, student responsibilities, and dispute resolution.
  

• Assess disclaimers concerning employment opportunities, internships, placements, certifications, and career outcomes.
  

• Recommend necessary modifications to ensure the documents are legally appropriate, clear, and enforceable.
  

• Provide written legal observations and suggested revisions.
  

• Coordinate with BFG management to discuss recommendations and incorporate agreed changes.
  

• Prepare and submit the final revised documents for management approval.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• LL.B. degree from a recognized university.
  

• Enrollment with a State Bar Council in India, preferably the Bar Council of Kerala.
  

• Previous experience in legal document review, contract drafting, and agreement finalization.
  

• Strong understanding of Indian contract law and relevant consumer protection regulations.
  

• Experience reviewing student agreements, educational institution contracts, or professional training service agreements will be an added advantage.
  

• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  

• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within agreed timelines.
  

• Must be based in Kerala.
  

Project Scope & Deliverables

The engagement will focus specifically on the legal review and finalization of BFG Tax Academy's student onboarding documentation.

Expected deliverables include:

1. A comprehensive review of the existing student agreement and related legal documents.
   

2. Identification of legal risks and provisions requiring modification.
   

3. A marked-up document containing recommended revisions.
   

4. Written suggestions to improve legal clarity and compliance.
   

5. A revised version incorporating agreed modifications.
   

6. Final legally reviewed documents ready for management approval and implementation.
   

Work Arrangement & Availability

• This is a remote, short-term, project-based engagement.
  

• The selected candidate must be available for discussions, meetings, and coordination with BFG management during the company's regular working hours (1:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST), as required throughout the project.
  

• The assignment will be completed within mutually agreed timelines.
  

• The engagement is limited to the defined project scope and does not require a fixed daily working schedule.
