Overview The Legal Counsel, Employment Law at Crocs, Inc. serves as a senior legal advisor and strategic partner to human resource professionals and business leaders, providing expert guidance across employment, commercial, compliance, and corporate matters. This role owns complex legal workstreams and employment-related risk management across the U.S. and Americas markets, balancing legal rigor with business objectives. The successful candidate operates with significant independence, has a preference for process and attention to detail, approaches difficult conversations with empathy, , influence senior stakeholders, and helps scale legal support through systems, frameworks, and strategic partnership What You'll Do Advise business leaders and HR partners on U.S. employment law matters, including employee relations, investigations, accommodations, leave management, workforce restructurings, performance management, and terminations. Provide strategic counsel on employment matters, partnering with internal stakeholders and external counsel to provide clear feedback, manage risk and ensure compliance across functions and jurisdictions. Lead complex litigation, employment claims, regulatory inquiries, and dispute resolution matters with limited oversight. Draft, negotiate, and advise on employment-related agreements, including contracts with HR-related vendors. Assess legal, regulatory, and business risks, delivering clear recommendations and influencing decision-making at the Director and VP level. Drive legal frameworks, governance processes, and scalable solutions that improve compliance, efficiency, and risk management across the organization. Mentor colleagues, share expertise, and extend team impact through coaching, influence, and strong stakeholder partnerships. Proactively identify legal and business improvement opportunities and drive initiatives to enhance the department’s strategic value and efficiency. What You'll Bring to the Table Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active admission to at least one U.S. State Bar in good standing. 5-7+ years of experience in employment law, including a combination of in-house and/or law firm practice. Deep expertise in U.S. employment law with experience supporting international employment matters and global business operations a plus. Demonstrated collaborative, empathetic, and curious approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive team environment. Demonstrated experience managing complex employment litigation, investigations, claims, including at the agency level, and compliance matters with limited oversight. Proven ability to independently manage complex legal matters with empathy and speed, prioritize based on risk and business impact, and exercise sound judgment and confidence in ambiguous situations. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, including experience advising and presenting recommendations to senior and executive-level stakeholders. Title: Legal Counsel, Employment Law Salary or Pay Range: $139,000 - $149,000 Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.
