As Legal Counsel & Group Data Protection Officer, you will take Group-level ownership of data protection and privacy matters while also acting as a trusted legal partner to the business across a broad range of commercial legal matters.
This is a newly established Group-wide position reflecting the growing importance of data protection within Tokmanni Group. Initially, data protection will form a significant part of your responsibilities. Over time, however, the role is expected to develop increasingly towards broader Legal Counsel responsibilities, with the exact emphasis shaped by business needs as well as your experience and interests.
As Group Data Protection Officer, you will oversee and further develop Tokmanni Group’s data protection framework, policies, controls, plans and reporting. You will coordinate the implementation of data protection requirements across Finland, Sweden and Denmark, monitor compliance and regulatory developments, advise the business on data protection impact assessments and other statutory obligations, and act as a contact point for supervisory authorities and data subjects. An important part of your role will also be supporting and training different business functions and helping translate data protection requirements into practical ways of working.
In this role, you will take Group-level ownership of the existing data protection framework and play a key role in its continuous development and implementation across Tokmanni Group. You will work closely with local data protection stakeholders in Sweden and Denmark, coordinating and developing a consistent Group-wide approach to data protection.
Alongside your DPO responsibilities, you will provide practical legal support in corporate, commercial, contractual, regulatory and compliance matters. Your work will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, advising the business on a broad range of legal questions and, when needed, coordinating cooperation with external legal counsel. There is genuine scope to shape the broader legal responsibilities according to your expertise and professional interests.
You will join Tokmanni Group’s small legal team and work closely with colleagues across the organisation. The role offers broad exposure to different Group functions, particularly marketing, procurement, IT, finance and other business operations, and provides an opportunity to build a strong internal network across countries and functions.
Your primary workplace will be Tokmanni Group’s head office in Mäntsälä. The Group operates a hybrid working model, offering the possibility to work remotely depending on the requirements of the role and the business. The position does not require regular travel, although some travel to Sweden and Denmark is expected particularly in the beginning to become familiar with the local organisations, ways of working and key stakeholders.
