We’re Summize, an ambitious legal tech scale-up based in the US and UK, working with businesses all over the globe. Our mission is simple, to get entire businesses working faster and smarter with contracts. We’re a growing team making big things happen out of HQs in Manchester, UK, Boston and San Diego, US and we’re not stopping! Following our recent $50 Million Series B investment we’re looking for forward-thinkers, innovators and problem solvers to join our dynamic team as we enter our next growth phase.
The Role
This is a brilliant entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate who wants to build a career in legal tech implementation. Maybe you've studied law, business or something similar and realized the traditional route isn't for you. Or maybe you've always been drawn to where law meets technology. Either way, you'll get hands-on experience in a fast-growing SaaS business, backed by full coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.
Our Legal Engineers sit at the intersection of legal and technology. You'll help implement Summize for our customers by designing, configuring, troubleshooting and building solutions that improve how they handle contracts. You'll partner with our Implementation Managers to get customers up and running on time, and work directly with customer teams to deliver real, measurable value.
You'll also get deep into AI. You'll learn to engineer AI prompts for legal software, create AI tags in Microsoft Word, and become an expert in configuring AI within the Summize platform.
This is a hybrid role based in our Seaport office in Boston.
Role responsibilities
Help set up each customer's Summize instance by creating contract templates, engineering AI prompts and configuring workflows.
Work alongside Implementation Managers to deliver projects on time and to a premium standard.
Join pre-sales and kick-off workshops to understand each customer's processes and the full scope of their project.
Deliver engaging training sessions and product demos to end users, from legal teams to sales and procurement.
Use AI and technology to streamline and standardize how we deliver, so every project meets the Summize standard.
Share ideas with Customer Success and Innovation colleagues to improve our processes and the customer experience.
Attend daily Legal Engineering stand-ups and update your Team Lead on progress, blockers and wins.
What we’re looking for
A bachelor's degree, completed within the last two years, in a relevant subject such as Law, Pre-Law, Business or similar.
A genuine interest in legal tech and a desire to build a career in software implementation.
Curiosity about AI and emerging technology, and a willingness to learn how to write and test AI prompts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to a range of audiences.
Strong attention to detail and a structured, organized approach to your work.
A problem-solving mindset: you enjoy working out how things fit together and how they could work better.
Must be eligible to live and work in the US.
Nice to have
An internship, co-op, paralegal or legal ops placement, or any client-facing experience.
Exposure to contracts, contract review or legal processes, whether through study, clinics or work.
Hands-on experience using AI tools, especially for writing, research or analysis.
Familiarity with CRM or project management tools, or an interest in B2B SaaS.
What we offer
Full coaching, mentoring and structured on-the-job training to launch your legal tech career.
26 days PTO plus US public holidays, increasing by 1 day every year up to 30 days.
Healthcare insurance plan for all employees, including dental and vision.
A 401(k) plan for all employees.
Rich learning and development opportunities, supported through our Growth Mindset Fund.
Work from anywhere policy after one year of employment.
Employee share option scheme.
Access to discounts on travel, electronics, fashion, fitness and more.
Regular social activities and events.
The opportunity to be part of one of legal tech's hottest scale-ups.

We understand the value of having a diversity of identities, backgrounds and thinking within our company so we’re open to hearing from applicants who don’t yet tick all the boxes. If that’s you, please accompany your application with short summary explaining how you’d close the gap on the skills you don’t yet have.
