Legal Intern

Role Description: This is a flexible, project-based Legal Intern / Thesis Student role. We have an office in the city centre of Helsinki at Helsinki Incubators, with hybrid and remote options available. The Legal Intern will support the foundational setup by researching regulatory and compliance matters related to ride-hailing (Liikennepalvelulaki), transportation, data protection (GDPR), and consumer rights. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with the preparation and review of contracts, Terms of Service, and other legal documents, helping to draft internal policies, and supporting the resolution of legal issues that arise in early-stage operations.

This role is ideal for a student looking to complete their Master's Thesis (Pro Gradu) or gain high-impact practical experience in a mission-driven technology startup. While the role is currently unpaid, it offers hands-on experience building a company's legal framework from scratch, strong professional references, flexible working hours, and potential for future formal roles or equity consideration as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Solid foundational knowledge of Law (Oikeustiede) and key legal issues relevant to business and technology.
• Ability to support legal research, including basic compliance checks and preparation of internal guidance.
• Experience or coursework in Legal Document Preparation, such as contracts, terms of service, policies, and compliance documentation.
• Strong Communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a law degree (LL.M. / OTM, LL.B. / ON, or equivalent legal studies in Finland).
• Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Interest in mobility, technology, safety, and inclusive services; familiarity with Finnish corporate and transport regulations is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Finnish (mandatory for handling local regulatory frameworks) and English.
