How will you make an impact in this role?
As part of the Global Litigation and Investigations Team within the General Counsel’s organization of Amex, the Legal Operations Specialist will provide dedicated support for the processing of third-party legal orders.
Open and maintain legal matters within the case management system, ensuring all information is accurately documented and tracked.
Review and assess the validity and sufficiency of legal orders and information requests in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and American Express policies and procedures.
Analyze legal requests to determine scope, identify responsive accounts and records, and establish appropriate fulfillment requirements.
Conduct research across internal systems and platforms to identify, collect, and validate information responsive to legal orders.
Retrieve and compile responsive documents from American Express databases, applications, and record repositories.
Prepare correspondence, cover letters, and fulfillment packages for delivery to requestors, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
Coordinate the production and transmission of responsive records in accordance with established procedures and service level expectations.
Maintain accurate case documentation and audit trails throughout the lifecycle of each legal matter.
Ensure strict compliance with country-specific laws, regulations, privacy requirements, records retention obligations, and American Express policies and procedures.
Escalate complex, high-risk, or unusual requests to appropriate legal and management stakeholders as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduates in law or related subjects
0-2 years of experience in an operations team/ in-house legal department
Articulate and fluent verbal and written English
Sense of urgency, ability to discern critical matters and to meet deadlines
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
Able to work independently and as a team player
Strong written and oral communication skills
Meticulous with attention to detail, able to analyze and problem solve
Able to quickly train on, navigate, and extract information from a variety of databases and information platforms
Able to work productively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Excellent organization and time management skills
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
