Job description
As SKIM continues to grow internationally, our privacy and legal requirements are becoming diverse and more complex. Evolving privacy regulations, emerging technologies and AI tools, and a growing number of contracts and client requests create a need for stronger privacy expertise and clearer ownership of our legal processes. As our Legal & Privacy Officer, you will help the Legal team keep contracts, corporate documents and privacy processes accurate, organized and moving forward. You will work with established templates, processes and guidance, coordinate with colleagues across the business and recognize when a matter requires input from a more senior Legal team member or another specialist. While collaboration is essential, you should also be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of your areas of responsibility and moving work forward proactively.

You are organized, curious and pragmatic, and you enjoy making complex requirements understandable and workable. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should be comfortable taking ownership, asking the right questions and recognizing when specialist or senior input is needed. As our Legal & Privacy Officer, you will help the Legal team keep contracts, corporate documents and privacy processes accurate, organized and moving forward. Specifically, you will be expected to:
Privacy Compliance
- Help define, maintain and follow up SKIM’s privacy compliance plan; monitor relevant international developments; and translate requirements into practical guidance, policies, notices, procedures, templates and DPAs.
- Advise teams on controller, processor and other privacy roles, working with IT, HR, Compliance, Marketing and Workspace. Coordinate data subject requests, personal data breach response, DPIAs and other privacy risk assessments, escalating matters where specialist or senior input is needed.
Legal Operations
- Contract Review & Support: Review or assist in the review and drafting of commercial contracts, including NDAs, DPAs, service and supplier agreements, SaaS, licensing agreements, rental contracts, consultancy agreements, and terms and conditions.
- Contract Management & Process Improvement: Own contract workflows in SpotDraft, coordinate approvals and signatures, and become the go-to expert for our contract management system within SKIM. Maintain and improve legal templates, records and processes, support client due diligence, corporate documentation and the Legal team's intake process, and use tools such as Microsoft Copilot to drive automation, streamline workflows, build self-service solutions and strengthen legal knowledge management across the business.
Qualifications

You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should be comfortable taking ownership, asking the right questions and recognizing when specialist or senior input is needed. Typically, we are looking for someone with the following profile:
- A relevant Master’s degree, preferably in Privacy Law, Technology Law or a closely related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in privacy law, legal operations or contract management and the ambition to specialize further in advising on commercial contracts. Experience in a start-up or dynamic environment is a plus.
- An interest in privacy legislation across multiple jurisdictions and confidence working with digital tools and AI-supported solutions.
- Tech-savvy, strong organizational and project coordination skills, with close attention to detail.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working across both legal and operational matters, with strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- Strong written and verbal proficiency in English.
- You are authorized to work in the Netherlands.
