About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Legal Specialist to join our Legal Department, with a strong focus on data protection/GDPR compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across our operations, reviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and minimizing legal risks while supporting the company's business goals. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory & Compliance Monitoring: Continuously track changes in laws and regulations to ensure proper application in daily operations. Regularly check business compliance with legal requirements and propose steps for alignment. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance: Act as the company's primary point of contact for data protection matters — monitor GDPR compliance across services, contracts, and internal processes. Contract Management: Prepare and review draft contracts, identifying and flagging potential legal risks. Independently prepare final contract drafts and lead negotiations with clients and suppliers. Internal Acts & Legal Opinions: Draft general and individual company acts and align them with legal regulations. Provide expert legal opinions on contractual, corporate, and employment-related matters arising from the company's operations. Legal Analysis: Prepare deep-dive legal analyses. Training & Education: Develop and conduct training sessions and educational workshops on various legal topics. External Collaboration: Cooperate with external legal experts, advisors, and institutions when necessary to complete tasks. Requirements & Competencies: A University Degree in Law is a must-have. Location requirement: Based in Zagreb or the surrounding area , as occasional on-site presence in the Zagreb office is required (despite the flexible/remote work model). 3–5+ years of relevant legal experience is preferred. Strong working knowledge of GDPR and data protection law is required. Prior experience acting as a DPO, or in a role with substantial DPO-equivalent responsibilities, is a strong plus. Fluent English (spoken and written) — required for daily work with international clients and colleagues. Familiarity with IP law is an advantage. Prior experience in the IT/tech industry is an advantage. Key Competencies: Research & Analytical Skills & Attention to Detail: Ability to research and analyze legislative regulations, legal documents, and both simple and complex legal issues meticulously. Legal Interpretation: Proficiency in correctly interpreting legal regulations and statutes. Logical & Creative Thinking: Strong logical reasoning to apply regulations to specific legal problems, paired with creative problem-solving capabilities. Negotiation Skills: Excellent contract negotiation skills, particularly regarding terms with clients and suppliers. Time Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage your workload effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
