YOUR CONTRIBUTION MAKES A POSITIVE IMPACT
Reporting to the Director, Client Contracts and Partnerships, the Legal Technician contributes to the preparation, review, administration and follow-up of contractual agreements between the company and its clients, business partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
In a software development and implementation environment, you will provide legal support to the Sales, Project and Management teams. You will help ensure document compliance, support contractual risk management and maintain the organization’s legal files.
Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Support the preparation, review, formatting and coordination of client and supplier contracts, tender documents, amendments, renewals and related documents.
- Organize, manage and retain legal files electronically.
- Administer and maintain the contract lifecycle management tool (CLM), including file creation, metadata updates, approval workflow tracking, reporting and user support.
- Track contractual deadlines, renewals and obligations.
- Prepare tracking tables, registers and reports related to contract activities.
- Coordinate electronic signature processes and internal approvals.
- Maintain the contract template library and contribute to updates.
Legal Support and Compliance
- Conduct first-level legal and document research.
- Prepare and organize files by extracting and summarizing information, identifying key issues, conducting preliminary analyses and preparing summaries for legal advisors and managers.
- Contribute to the development and updating of policies, procedures and governance documents.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to send, track and obtain certificates, contractual documents and compliance documents.
- Complete and maintain the forms, registers, questionnaires and other compliance documents required by clients, suppliers or regulatory authorities.
Internal Collaboration
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams on contract and legal documentation matters.
- Support project managers in interpreting contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Finance, Information Security and Operations teams to ensure consistency across contractual commitments.
THE SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE YOU A KEY MEMBER OF THE TEAM
What You Bring
- A Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Paralegal Technology or another relevant field of study.
- Three to five years of experience in a similar role, ideally in commercial law, contract management or a corporate environment.
- Experience in the technology or software industry is a strong asset.
Your Knowledge
- A solid understanding of contract law and commercial practices in Quebec and Canada.
- Knowledge of privacy and personal information protection issues.
- Comfort with office software and document management systems.
- Excellent written French and a good command of English to work with contracts in both languages.
- An interest in contract management tools, artificial intelligence applied to the legal field and continuous improvement.
