This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.

Pay and Incentive Plan:

Starting Pay: $43.75 per hour

Purpose:

The Loan Portfolio Risk Analyst supports ESL's lending strategy through analysis of portfolio performance and credit risk trends. This role helps the organization understand changes in credit quality and underwriting outcomes. The analyst provides insights that support lending decisions and portfolio management activities. Through analytical expertise and continuous learning, this position helps strengthen ESL's approach to credit risk management.

Accountabilities:

Portfolio Analysis & Monitoring

  • Analyze portfolio performance to identify meaningful trends and emerging risk indicators
  • Monitor key measures of credit quality and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Evaluate changes in portfolio performance and recommend areas for
    further review
  • Support ongoing monitoring activities that inform lending decisions
  • Compare performance to benchmarks to help inform performance and
    future recommendations

Risk Insights & Reporting

  • Develop reporting and analysis that supports credit risk management
    activities
  • Research drivers of portfolio performance and summarize findings for
    stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of reports used by management and governance
    groups
  • Help identify opportunities to improve reporting effectiveness and efficiency

Lending Strategy Support

  • Evaluate underwriting outcomes and portfolio performance across lending products
  • Support analysis related to proposed underwriting, policy, or strategy
    changes
  • Assist with risk assessments that support lending initiatives
  • Contribute analytical insights that support business decision-making

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with business partners to address analytical questions and
    information needs
  • Support cross-functional projects through analysis and reporting
  • Communicate findings in a clear and meaningful manner

Professional Development

  • Maintain knowledge of credit risk management practices and industry
    trends
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or appropriate to support business needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data
    Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, or 4 years of directly related experience in credit risk, financial analysis, portfolio analytics, risk management, or a related field
  • In addition, a minimum of 2 years of experience in credit risk, financial analysis, portfolio analytics, risk management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data and interpreting results
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends and evaluate risk indicators
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with banking products, services, and business processes
  • Exposure to lending products and underwriting concepts
  • Proficiency using SQL, Python, R or similar analytical tools
  • Experience using data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with portfolio performance analysis
