Competitive Pay
- Starting salary is based on experience: $23.00/hr. ($43,300/yr) with no comparable experience, up to $28.75/hr. ($54,100/yr) with 10+ years in the same role
- Hourly role paid bi-weekly
Work-Life Balance
- 36.25-hour full-time work week (7 hours and 15 minutes per day)

Local Funding Specialist
In a typical day as a Local Funding Specialist, you might begin the day reviewing provider invoices and supporting documentation, comparing services to approved authorizations, and following up on discrepancies or missing information. Throughout the day, you’ll update funding records, monitor documentation and billing readiness for Medicaid Targeted Case Management (TCM) services, respond to questions from providers and internal staff, and collaborate with Business Services or Accounts Payable to resolve payment issues. You’ll also have opportunities to improve processes, update procedures or training materials, and support team members with backup coverage, helping ensure accurate records, timely provider reimbursement, and consistent, compliant financial operations.
Job Duties (Summary):
- Reviews and processes provider invoices for locally funded services, verifying documentation, authorizations, and compliance with agency and funding requirements; researches discrepancies and coordinates timely resolution and payment.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and audit-ready financial and funding records in agency systems, including data entry, reconciliation, documentation, and tracking of locally funded services.
- Supports Medicaid Targeted Case Management (TCM) billing by reviewing documentation for billing readiness, identifying and following up on issues, and providing backup support to maintain timely and compliant claim submission.
- Serves as a resource to providers and internal staff regarding invoicing, billing requirements, documentation standards, payment status, and local funding procedures; collaborates with Business Services, Accounts Payable, and other departments to resolve issues.
- Supports continuous improvement of local funding and billing operations by helping develop standardized procedures, testing system and process enhancements, creating training and procedural materials, and providing cross-trained backup to promote operational continuity.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of demonstrably related experience
- Ability to travel within Hamilton County as needed
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks, driver's abstract, and various abuser registry checks
