Job Title: Medicines Safety Specialist Pharmacist Banding: Band 8a Location: Yorkshire Start Date: ASAP Duration: 5–6 Months (potential to extend) Hourly Rate: £34-36 Working Hours: Full-time (majority remote working) Job Overview Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8a Medicines Safety Specialist Pharmacist to join the team in Yorkshire on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with a strong background in medicines safety to play a key role in supporting governance, risk management, and medication safety initiatives across the organisation. This is predominantly a remote-working position, with occasional travel to the site, typically once per month, for team meetings and service engagement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading medicines safety activities, supporting incident investigations, reviewing and developing policies, and ensuring best practice in medication governance. Key Responsibilities Lead on medicines safety initiatives across the organisation Review, investigate, and respond to medication-related incidents and near misses Support the development, review, and implementation of medicines management policies and procedures Provide expert medicines safety advice to healthcare professionals and stakeholders Contribute to risk management, governance, and quality improvement programmes Analyse trends and identify opportunities to improve medication safety and patient outcomes Support compliance with national guidance, legislation, and best practice standards Prepare reports and recommendations arising from incident reviews and audits Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote a culture of medication safety Qualifications and Experience Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Experience working at Band 8a level or equivalent Significant medicines safety experience is essential Proven experience responding to and investigating medication-related incidents Experience reviewing, writing, and updating medicines-related policies and procedures Strong knowledge of medicines governance, risk management, and patient safety frameworks Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently in a predominantly remote role Why Choose Pulse?
