Summary: The Logistics Consultant will support a federal consulting engagement focused on evaluating and improving physical security equipment inventory, asset management, lifecycle planning, and related operational processes. The consultant will assess current inventory and asset management practices, identify gaps and inefficiencies, analyze equipment lifecycle and replacement needs, and develop practical recommendations, tools, and methodologies that improve asset visibility and long-term planning. The position requires a combination of logistics, asset management, data analysis, process improvement, and client-facing consulting skills. Experience working with federal agencies, large distributed organizations, or physical security equipment is strongly preferred. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assess existing inventory, logistics, asset management, and equipment lifecycle processes Review available inventory records, databases, maintenance information, procurement records, and related documentation to determine data completeness and reliability Evaluate methods used to identify, track, reconcile, maintain, replace, and dispose of equipment Identify gaps, inconsistencies, duplicate records, missing information, and opportunities to improve asset visibility Develop standardized inventory and asset management processes, controls, and procedures Support development of asset classification structures, data standards, and inventory database requirements Analyze equipment age, condition, maintenance history, useful life, and replacement requirements Develop lifecycle and replacement-planning methodologies that support forecasting and budgeting Evaluate maintenance and replacement strategies for physical security equipment, including access control systems, X-ray equipment, walkthrough metal detectors, and related technologies Develop recommendations for improving inventory accuracy and providing near-real-time visibility into equipment status and location Develop analytical tools, templates, decision matrices, and other reusable resources to support ongoing asset management Participate in interviews, workshops, site assessments, and working sessions with Government stakeholders and operational personnel Document current-state and future-state processes and identify measurable opportunities for improvement Develop implementation recommendations, roadmaps, and supporting documentation Prepare reports, briefings, findings, and recommendations for Government stakeholders and leadership Coordinate with data analysts, Power BI developers, subject matter experts, and project management personnel Support validation of findings and recommendations to ensure methodologies are repeatable and maintainable by the Government Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated experience assessing and improving inventory or asset management processes Experience analyzing asset data and identifying data-quality or process-control issues Experience developing lifecycle, replacement, maintenance, or equipment-management strategies Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools Ability to translate operational requirements and data into actionable recommendations Demonstrated ability to develop clear technical documentation, reports, procedures, and executive-level briefings Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams Ability to obtain and maintain required federal background investigation, security, and facility-access requirements Minimum Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline Possess at least 5 years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, dashboard development, or data visualization Possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience developing solutions in Microsoft Power BI Possess the ability to pass and maintain eligibility for a Public Trust investigation Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting federal government consulting engagements Experience with physical security equipment or security technology programs Experience supporting geographically dispersed or multi-site asset inventories Familiarity with asset management frameworks and standards, including ISO 55000 concepts Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), enterprise asset management systems (EAM), configuration management databases (CMDB), or similar inventory platforms Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms Experience developing business process maps, standard operating procedures, governance structures, and implementation roadmaps Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Asset Management (CPAM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or comparable credentials NOTE: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job.
