The Logistics Coordinator manages all aspects of logistics throughout our supply chain. The logistics coordinator will be responsible for organizing and providing efficient transportation solutions for the entire lifecycle of our products. This role reports to the Logistics Manager. Specifically, you will: Coordinate daily transportation operations across all BrightFarms greenhouse locations Plan and optimize shipments, including mode selection, routing, consolidation, multi-stop loads, and expedited shipments Secure carrier capacity and ensure proper equipment availability to meet shipping schedules Schedule and manage pickup and delivery appointments with customers, carriers, suppliers, and greenhouse operations Monitor shipments from dispatch through delivery, proactively managing delays, service exceptions, temperature alerts, and other transportation issues Communicate shipment status, appointment updates, and operational issues to internal stakeholders, customers, and carriers Maintain required shipment documentation, including Proof of Delivery (POD), temperature records, and delivery confirmations Build and maintain strong carrier relationships while monitoring performance, identifying service failures, and escalating recurring issues Coordinate special transportation requests, including sample shipments, donations, and material deliveries Review freight invoices, evaluate accessorial charges, and support freight claims through documentation and carrier communication Generate transportation reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve service, and reduce costs Support transportation sourcing activities, including routing guide maintenance and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) Develop, maintain, and improve logistics Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions Support new customer launches, network expansion initiatives, and other cross-functional logistics projects Provide remote and occasional onsite support to greenhouse operations and Farm Support Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and transportation regulations Participate in a rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedule to support transportation operations, respond to service disruptions, and ensure business continuity Perform other duties as assigned The ideal candidate: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field and 2+ years of Industry experience Experience with supply chain software (i.e., TMS, WMS, and ERP systems) Experience with transportation across all modes, HOS regulations, equipment constraints, etc. Proven problem-solving ability; comfortable analyzing data and presenting recommendations Ability to read and interpret general industry documentation Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision, self-starter Preferred qualifications: Good time management and organizational skills Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and interpersonal communication Good collaboration and teamwork abilities Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Strong negotiation skills Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others at all management levels Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple locations Strong teammate, with the innate ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detailed understanding of supply chain cost drivers Additional: Travel will be required by automobile, airplane, train, etc., approximately 10% BrightFarms is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer - All qualified applicants/employees will receive consideration for employment without regard to that individual’s age, race, color, religion or creed, national origin or ancestry, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, veteran status, genetic information, ethnicity, citizenship, or any other characteristic protected by law.
