Is this job info correct?

Company Description Waggi Connected Pets is a premium digital solution for pet care, built around a smart wearable that monitors a pet’s location, walks, movement, sleep, food intake, and rest. By combining real-time tracking with AI-driven analytics, Waggi helps pet guardians better understand and support their pets’ health and daily routines. The platform is designed to enhance pets’ lives through data-informed insights and personalized recommendations. Waggi is focused on redefining modern pet care through intuitive technology, meaningful data, and user-friendly experiences.

Role Description The Low Level Systems Engineer will design, implement, and optimize embedded software for Waggi’s pet wearables and supporting hardware. In this full-time remote role, the engineer will work on firmware development, hardware-software integration, and performance tuning for resource-constrained devices. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and debugging low-level code, developing device drivers, collaborating with hardware and software teams to define system architecture, and ensuring reliability, security, and power efficiency of the embedded platform. The engineer will also contribute to testing frameworks, troubleshooting field issues, and documenting system design and implementation details.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in embedded systems programming, such as C/C++ development, microcontroller or SoC-based firmware, and real-time or bare-metal environments.
  • Candidates should possess skills in low-level systems and hardware integration, such as device drivers, communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, BLE), and hardware debugging tools.
  • Candidates should possess skills in operating systems and performance, such as working with RTOS or embedded Linux, resource optimization, power management, and system profiling.
  • Candidates should possess skills in testing and quality, including unit and integration testing for embedded code, use of version control systems, and structured debugging practices.
  • Candidates should possess skills in collaborative engineering, such as clear technical communication, cross-functional teamwork, and the ability to document designs and implementation details.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with IoT devices, wearables, or sensor-based systems is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with security best practices for embedded systems and over-the-air firmware updates is a plus.
