M365 Engineer — Exchange & Purview Compliance (f/m/d) Workload: 100% Join us in Madrid and play a key role in transforming enterprise messaging and data compliance. As an M365 Engineer, you'll architect and optimize hybrid Exchange environments while leveraging Microsoft Purview to safeguard how Axpo's information is protected, retained, and governed across Microsoft 365. What you will do: Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/2019) and Exchange Online environments for stability and high availability. Manage hybrid Exchange deployments, including mail flow, connectors, and coexistence configurations. Troubleshoot complex messaging issues across Outlook, OWA, and EWS in enterprise environments. Lead large-scale migrations, including cross-tenant, cutover, and public folder migrations. Implement email security, compliance, and governance frameworks (DMARC/DKIM/SPF), and collaborate with teams on integration with Active Directory, DNS, and M365 services. Operate Microsoft Purview compliance for messaging: email retention and records policies, DLP and sensitivity-label enforcement in mail flow, and Outlook message encryption (RMS). Support eDiscovery, audit, and legal/litigation holds on mailboxes, working with Compliance and Legal stakeholders. What you bring & who you are: Proven experience with Exchange Server (2016/2019) and Exchange Online, including hybrid configurations. Understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, certificates, and AAD Connect. Expertise in troubleshooting messaging issues and PowerShell scripting for automation and monitoring (including Security & Compliance PowerShell). Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview — Data Loss Prevention, retention/records management, sensitivity labels, and eDiscovery/audit. Certifications in Microsoft 365 are ideal (e.g., Messaging Administrator MS-203; Information Protection Administrator SC-400 a plus). Familiarity with migration tools (Quest, BitTitan) and enterprise email security products (Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender). Fluency in English is necessary.
