Overview

The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) seeks a Talent Acquisition Specialist responsible for marketing and managing MACNY’s recruitment platform (applicant tracking system) and supporting other HR tasks and projects. This includes sourcing and engaging with qualified candidates for various roles (internal and external) across multiple industries. This role delivers training to members who purchase the recruitment platform looking to fill open positions. This position proactively builds a pipeline of sources and candidates in the company database, aligning and matching candidates to external member positions. They support our business development team to increase our member totals. This role involves outreach to MACNY member companies to increase participation and aid in the engagement of passive candidates for qualifying openings supporting our talent development team, including MACNY’s Registered Apprenticeship Program. This role formulates partnerships across New York State that reflect the business objectives of the organization. It also strongly supports HR and the MACNY business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to HR supporting the department and management of the recruiting software platform.
  • Delivers Strategic sourcing that meet real time deadlines. They execute inbound and outbound strategies that address members’ recruiting needs matching talent for successful hires, while meeting real-time deadlines.
  • Targets talent engagement by proactively sourcing direct-based processes to meet members’ hiring needs and support the organization’s profitability goals.
  • Uses strong and effective communication skills delivering oral, written, presentation, and people skills to members and candidates across the recruiting organizational system.
  • Supports a clear understanding and alignment of MACNY’s background, culture, and values to foster a stronger membership base.
  • Creates job descriptions that explain the responsibilities and qualifications required for positions ensuring compliance for both internal MACNY positions and external partner/member positions.
  • Screen and present candidates as requested to successfully match the best talent to the open positions delivering effective support to members and MACNY staff.
  • Maintains an extensive professional network and candidate database that builds over time with proven positive working relationships and business results.
  • Manages the Internal and external recruiting process efficiently to meet company goals and align with current business trends.
  • Collaborates with members and managers to identify future hiring needs.
  • Provides added HR and business support as needed related to certain workflows and projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong people skills with an ability to increase business relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with positive energy.
  • Proficient with recruiting software systems, external recruiting sites, and running tracking reports to analyze specific data trends (quarterly, monthly, and annually).
  • Solid level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of recruiting and human resource experience.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience providing recruiting and HR processes a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of multiple internal/external recruiting systems and processes.
  • SHRM-CP or SCP certification (or similar HR certification) a plus.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer workstation working with multiple individuals.
  • Ability to travel as needed to attend work events and increase networking with members.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
