Mail Auditor

Position Summary

Analyzes and processes voluntary (payroll) audits for policyholders following the expiration of their policy term, or the cancellation of their policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct voluntary audits in compliance with established company policies & guidelines and industry standards.
  • Maintain, monitor and manage assigned audits utilizing the necessary tools/resources.
  • Accountable for achievement and maintenance of time to serve, productivity and quality standards based on the department/organizational objectives.
  • Assess and analyze additional significant account information (obtained during audit) and make final decision regarding account modifications.
  • Work with policyholders, agents and internal staff to analyze and resolve audit disputes as needed, within established guidelines.
  • Complete other duties and special projects assigned by management.

Skills, Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred Accounting, Business or Finance with 0-2 years experience.
  • Insurance Coursework desired (such as APA, CIC).
  • General PC skills, including Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse customer base.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze varied source data to assemble quality premium audit.
  • Ability to manage workload in which most of time is spent assisting telephone inquiries and/or office walk-ins.
  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required which include, close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Office Environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

$55,393.00-$83,090 (per year, commensurate with exprience)

Senior Mail Auditor

Position Summary

The Sr. Mail Auditor position is for an experienced mail auditor whose duties include assisting the PA Leadership Team to provide expertise and guidance to other mail auditors in the unit as they relate to the achievement of the PA department’s objectives related to time service, quality and production. In addition, as a highly experienced mail auditor, this position is expected to complete in excess of 10% more audits then the number of audits required of a mail auditor position. The Sr. Mail Auditor will work under the close supervision of the Premium Audit Leadership Team to ensure that they are providing the expected assistance and sharing of industry knowledge to other mail unit staff, which will allow the unit to attain the desired overall Departmental goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage supporting mail audit processes
  • Assist PA Leadership Team, by providing coaching and mentoring to Mail Auditors
  • Ensure Mail Auditors adhere to audit guidelines, policies & procedures.
  • Assist PA Leadership Team with attaining the overall production and time service for the mail audit function.
  • Assist PA Leadership Team with ensuring quality standards are maintained via the Q&A – Review process.
  • Assist PA Leadership Team with providing input as to appropriate technical skills training required for staff.
  • Complete a minimum of 10% more audits then expected of the mail auditor position
  • Assist with the completion of more complex mail audits which could require on-site audit review.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related coursework desired
  • 4 -6 years of Audit experience is required
  • Industry designations such as APA, CIC preferred
  • General PC skills, including Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with a diverse customer base.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze varied source data to assemble quality premium audit
  • Demonstrated abilities to effectively manage and motivate a team.

$64,605.00-$96,907.00 (per year, commensurate with experience
