📍 Locations: QLD | ACT | VIC | NSW | SA

🏢 Work Arrangement: Hybrid (initial 6 weeks onsite)

📅 Contract Duration: 12 months + extensions up to 24 months

🔐 Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

📌 Level: APS6 Equivalent

🗓️ Expected Start Date: January 2027

About the Opportunity

IT Alliance Australia is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer for a long-term Australian Government contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex ICT solutions, application development, system integration and ongoing software maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain complex applications.
• Develop, optimise and troubleshoot software programs.
• Support release management, deployment and configuration activities.
• Design system components and implement integration solutions.
• Perform unit, integration and automated testing.
• Provide production support, maintenance and go-live assistance.
• Prepare technical documentation and progress reports.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver quality ICT solutions.
• Ensure compliance with established software development standards and methodologies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience in mainframe development and software engineering.
• Expertise in programming, software design and systems integration.
• Experience with software configuration, release and deployment processes.
• Strong testing, debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
