Role Description As a Malay Transcriber (Freelancer) at DatoviaPlayHouse, you will listen to audio and video recordings in Malay and accurately convert them into written text following project-specific guidelines. You will review and verify transcriptions for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, ensuring correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proper use of Malay language conventions. Day-to-day tasks include labeling or tagging content as required, following formatting rules, meeting deadlines, and maintaining secure handling of client data. You may collaborate with project managers and quality reviewers to clarify instructions, implement feedback, and improve overall output quality. This is a full-time remote freelance role, offering flexible work from any location with reliable internet access.

Qualifications

• Strong command of Malay (native or near-native) and solid understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail for accurate transcription of various accents, dialects, and audio qualities.
• Proficiency in typing with good speed and accuracy, and comfort using transcription and productivity tools.
• Ability to follow style guides, formatting rules, and client instructions, and to apply feedback to improve work quality.
• Reliable time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments remotely.
• Basic English comprehension for project communication and instructions; experience in transcription or localization is a plus.
• Stable internet connection, access to a computer or laptop, and a quiet workspace suitable for focused audio work.
• Prior freelance or remote work experience and familiarity with online collaboration platforms are beneficial.
