Management Accountant

Full-time | Remote from South Africa | UK working hours 8 am to 5 pm

We are working exclusively with a growing UK business to recruit a qualified Management Accountant for its expanding finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers while also wanting greater exposure to analysis, business performance and decision support.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play an important role in the month-end process, maintain strong financial controls and provide meaningful analysis to help the wider business understand performance.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of key areas of the monthly management accounts process
  

• Preparing month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments
  

• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  

• Reviewing receivables, aged debt and customer payment performance
  

• Monitoring payables and supplier balances
  

• Reconciling revenue, cash receipts and customer payments
  

• Supporting revenue recognition and deferred income calculations
  

• Producing monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow analysis
  

• Analysing performance against budgets, forecasts and previous periods
  

• Investigating variances and identifying the commercial drivers behind performance
  

• Providing financial and commercial analysis to support management decisions
  

• Helping strengthen financial controls and improve reporting processes
  

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
  

• Assisting senior finance leadership with commercial and ad-hoc projects
  

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  

• Ideally 1–2+ years post-qualification
  

• Technically strong, particularly across month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  

• Highly competent in Excel
  

• Confident working with large volumes of financial data
  

• Comfortable producing detailed financial and commercial analysis
  

• Commercially minded and interested in understanding what is driving business performance
  

• Accurate, organised and comfortable taking ownership of deadlines
  

• Able to operate effectively within a growing, fast-paced organisation
  

Experience within a business handling high volumes of customer transactions, recurring payments or complex receivables would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
