Research & Evaluation Manager Job Summary: The Research and Evaluation Manager contributes to the Ministry Insights team’s landscape research and enterprise-wide program evaluation efforts, using the tools and best practices of social science and market research. S/he serves the team as a research analyst and program evaluator for programs across American Bible Society. The Manager is a subject matter expert with training and experience in research and evaluation. Minimum Spiritual and Personal Commitment: Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Key Responsibilities: Research: Manage development and implementation of Scripture engagement measurement tools across ABS program teams and partnerships Become familiar with research related to Scripture engagement and the social science impacts of Scripture engagement. Assist the Insights team in developing useful and appropriate applications of Artificial Intelligence tools in data analysis Contribute to the Ministry Insights team’s efforts to produce and publish peer-reviewed research articles, related to Scripture engagement and human flourishing and their relationships to individuals, churches, and communities. Support the design, analysis and reporting of research products including State of the Bible. Support the communication and distribution of research findings to internal and external audiences Evaluation: Design, deploy, and report on mixed-methods program and product evaluations, using the Qualtrics online research software and other platforms, as needed to meet the needs of program leaders and funding partners. Follow program evaluation protocols and systems established by Ministry Insights leadership. Ensure outcome evaluations inform ongoing program monitoring, innovation, and KPI efforts, through collaboration with teams including Global Bible Access and Digital Product Studio. Assist in the collection of ministry program KPIs and in the communication of program impact to the ABS leadership team and board. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in one of the social science fields and/or market research. Experience: Coursework and experience in quantitative and qualitative research strongly preferred. Experience with SPSS, SAS, or other statistical analysis software required. Tableau Desktop Certified Associate preferred. Certifications through Qualtrics Core XM™ Expert required within 120 days of employment. Technical Skills: Proficient in latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Physical Demands/Work Environment Physical Demands: Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting of materials and equipment, up to 20 pounds. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Office Location: Hybrid Office located in old-city Philadelphia. On-site work required two days each week with Tuesday mandatory as one of the days. Fully remote is possible with significant experience and requires minimum annual visits to ABS headquarters for all-staff and team events. Core Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST Travel Required: Occasional business travel outside the Philadelphia area will not exceed 24 days per year.
