Location: CBD/Parramatta. Hybrid working arrangements, 2 days per week in office (split across CBD and Parramatta offices), 3 days per week WFH.

NSW Fair Trading is embarking on a major
program of work to transition to agentic data engineering and analytics. The
Manager Data & AI Platform Engineering will be responsible for architecting
a data model, and cloud data platform, to enable agentic data engineering,
analytics and science workflows.
In this role you’ll own the platform target
state architecture and roadmap. You’ll lead a small team to design and
implement major uplifts in security, identity, deployment, and agent
orchestration across our platform, supported by a team of 5.

find new and better ways of doing things. You’ll have a high degree of
autonomy, and will be accountable for playing a strategic leadership role in
the Directorate.

About the team: Regulatory Intelligence, Data &
Insights
Your day-to-day
- Design and implement initiatives to continuously improve security, governance and observability of an Azure and Snowflake based data platform.
- Set and continuously improve DevSecOps practices across the team. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of deployment pipelines for data pipelines, machine learning models and user-facing web applications.
- Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines. Manage the
- Design and implement agentic workflows for ingestion, data quality management, and BAU data & analytics tasks.
- Design and implement ways to effectively monitor, deploy, and manage context for AI agents across the Directorate.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be driven to achieve excellence and comfortable with a fast pace of change
- Enjoy learning and experimentation, and always be willing to ask whether there’s a better way to do something
- Have implemented DevOps/DevSecOps transformations in the past
- Have a strong understanding of cloud security best practices
- Be familiar with common data ingestion and transformation patterns.
- Direct experience with Snowflake and Azure are not essential.
- The successful candidate will be a strong communicator.

Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $154,231 base plus superannuation
