JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Engineering Services Project Management is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering a portfolio of capital improvement, facility remediation, and construction projects across our existing center network. This role oversees a broad range of projects including building and infrastructure improvements, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC upgrades, roofing and building envelope repairs, site and dock improvements, life-safety initiatives, equipment and facility upgrades, mold remediation, water mitigation, and other facility-driven capital needs.


This position provides end-to-end project and program leadership to ensure all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational requirements, established budgets, schedules, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide full lifecycle, end-to-end project and program leadership from initial assessment and scope development through contractor procurement, budgeting, execution, verification, and closeout. Concurrently manage multiple OPEX and CAPEX projects, programs, and initiatives across 300+ facilities throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico. Establish priorities and monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, commitments, operational requirements, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Manage planned capital projects intended to improve, replace, upgrade, or extend the useful life of facilities and infrastructure. Projects may include building and infrastructure improvements, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC upgrades, roofing and building envelope repairs, site and dock improvements, life-safety initiatives, equipment and facility upgrades, and other facility-driven capital needs. Coordinate with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) on safety initiatives and projects identified through EHS assessments and recommendations.
  • Manage significant facility issues requiring investigation, immediate mitigation, root-cause correction, and permanent resolution. Coordinate investigation, scope development, contractor procurement, temporary mitigation, remediation, permanent repairs, verification, and project closeout. Coordinate with Operations, EHS, vendors, landlords, insurance providers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Manage renovations and construction projects within operating centers while minimizing disruption to center operations. Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering (A/E) teams to develop project design intent and ensure proposed solutions align with operational requirements, project objectives, and organizational standards. Develop scopes of work, solicit and evaluate contractor and vendor proposals, and oversee contractor performance, project schedules, budgets, change management, quality, safety, and project closeout. Ensure contractors and vendors perform work in accordance with contractual requirements, project specifications, applicable regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Ensure effective team and internal/external stakeholder communication, keeping stakeholders informed of project progress, risks, issues, decisions, and deliverables in order to effectively manage expectations.
  • Ensure projects and facility-related work support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA, CLIA, ISO, GHA, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, local, and organizational requirements.
  • Promote company values and Corporate Safety Compliance throughout project planning, execution, contractor management, and project closeout.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Experience:

  • 8–10 years of demonstrated commercial construction project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience managing construction projects within occupied, operational facilities while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

PREFERRED SKILLS & ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

  • Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors to achieve best results.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex construction and facility issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in occupied facilities and minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet required.
  • Experience with Corrigo is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required based on project and business needs. Travel frequency will vary depending on project requirements.
  • Must be able to climb and descend fixed and portable ladders, including rooftop access ladders.
  • Must be able to safely perform work at elevated heights.
