Description

Position Purpose:

The Manager Finance plays a critical role in supporting the financial health, operational effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of WorldatWork. Serving as a trusted partner to leaders across the organization, this position oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, analysis, and financial systems, including NetSuite. The role provides data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of financial information through strong processes, controls, and continuous improvement.


Highly analytical, organized, and collaborative, the Manager Finance translates complex financial data into meaningful insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Working closely with department leaders, vendors, auditors, and financial teams in both the U.S. and India, this role drives alignment, transparency, and operational consistency across the organization. Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand financial performance, explain budget-to-actual variances, and support forecasting and financial planning.
  • Provide financial data, analysis, and supporting materials for senior leadership and Board of Directors presentations.
  • Ensure financial reporting and accounting practices remain in compliance with U.S. GAAP and established company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual corporate tax preparation process, partnering with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, including development of timelines, templates, assumptions, departmental submissions, consolidation, and management review.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial reporting processes, internal controls, and documentation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Serve as a key financial resource to senior leadership by providing financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.

Financial Operations

  • Oversee the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts, and other relevant financial information.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Analyse and recommend improvements to financial policies and practices.
  • Engage & encourage cross functional collaboration between finance operations and other departments within the organization.
  • Serve as the primary Finance representative for new projects, software implementations, product launches, and other organizational initiatives, ensuring financial, accounting, reporting, and operational considerations are incorporated into planning and implementation.
  • Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to review the financial terms of customer and vendor contracts, including pricing, payment terms, billing requirements, fees, renewal provisions, and other financial considerations.
  • Supervise and mentor finance department staff, providing leadership and development opportunities.

*Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to contribute to the organization when needed.

*Provide outstanding customer service both internally and external, while performing other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Three years managing a team with responsibility for business results.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a non-profit organization.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong project-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to collaborative efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, non-profit accounting, and financial regulations.
  • Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and grant accounting.
  • Proficiency in Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and database management systems. Experience with association management software is desired but not required.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Adapative is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and identify effective solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements in financial operations, increasing efficiency and enhancing reporting.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position oversees one (3) positions.


At WorldatWork, we offer a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package. The hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus with a target of 10% of base salary. This position may be worked remotely.
