Manager, Fraud Advisory
- Grade: Service NSW Grade 11/12, Base full-time salary range of $167,165 to $201,105 plus superannuation and leave loading
- Location: Sydney (Haymarket), Parramatta or Gosford. We support flexible and hybrid work arrangements with an in-office requirement of 2 days per week. This may be subject to change in line with workplace policies
- Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing.

As Manager, Fraud Advisory, you'll play a critical role in strengthening the organisation's fraud and corruption risk framework, protecting public resources, and driving a strong risk culture across the business
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk, compliance, audit or fraud professional to lead strategic initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver meaningful outcomes that support the integrity of government service delivery
About the role
As Manager, Fraud Advisory, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of fraud and corruption risk management practices across the organisation. You'll provide expert advice, oversee risk assessments, monitor emerging threats and help shape governance frameworks that support informed decision-making and compliance obligations.
Working across a diverse stakeholder environment, you'll influence leaders, build capability, and drive initiatives that strengthen fraud prevention, detection and response outcomes
Key responsibilities
- Lead fraud and corruption risk assessments across the organisation.
- Develop, implement and monitor fraud risk strategies, controls and reporting frameworks.
- Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders on fraud, risk and compliance matters.
- Analyse emerging risks and provide recommendations to mitigate exposure.
- Drive continuous improvement of fraud risk policies, processes and governance frameworks.
- Produce high-quality reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Foster a positive risk culture through stakeholder engagement, education and capability uplift initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, policy obligations and industry best practice.
- Lead and mentor team members while contributing to an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
About you
- To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Extensive experience in fraud risk management, operational risk, compliance, audit, investigations or related advisory functions.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and fraud control frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues, identify emerging risks and develop practical solutions.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience leading projects, implementing change and delivering strategic outcomes.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching and developing others.
Desirable
- Although not essential, it is highly desirable that you have subject matter expertise relevant to financial and identity-related fraud, and knowledge of identity verification services.
- Experience in fraud risk management or a related field that deals with operational risk, compliance, audit, investigations or related advisory functions.
Appointment and ongoing assignment is subject to satisfactory participation in pre-employment checks, ongoing probity screening, and completion of a satisfactory criminal record check.
Essential Requirements
- You must also hold or be willing to apply for a security clearance if required.
