Salary Range: $74,808.00 To $93,510.00 Annually Job Title: Manager, Fundraising Volunteers Reports to: Chief Advancement Officer Supervisory Position: No Position Status: Full Time Travel Required: Yes/No Position Summary The Manager, Fundraising Volunteers, is responsible for the strategic recruitment, engagement, and management of volunteer fundraising leaders and committees that advance The Greater Boston Food Bank’s (GBFB) philanthropic goals. This role oversees key volunteer bodies—including the Women Fighting Hunger Committee, Corporate Advisory Council, and other fundraising-focused groups—and builds scalable engagement models that deepen donor relationships and expand revenue generation. Working cross-functionally with Advancement senior management, frontline fundraisers, and events staff, this position ensures volunteers are equipped, supported, and activated to meet ambitious fundraising targets while strengthening GBFB’s community of advocates. This role has a matrixed reporting relationship: the Chief Advancement Officer provides strategic direction and goal alignment, while the Senior Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships oversees day-to-day management, execution, and performance. Role & Responsibilities Volunteer Fundraiser & Committee Management Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing management of volunteer fundraisers across the Women Fighting Hunger Committee, Corporate Advisory Council, and additional ad hoc or pilot fundraising groups. Manage a portfolio of volunteer leaders, actively cultivating relationships, setting expectations, and providing strategic guidance to achieve fundraising goals. Develop and distribute tools, materials, and resources to support effective peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer-led outreach. Partner with Advancement senior management to pilot and scale new volunteer fundraising models, engagement opportunities, and events. Support committees in expanding year-round engagement strategies beyond single events, increasing retention and long-term value. Support committee leaders in internal and external communications. Corporate Advisory Council & Board Working Groups Coordinate the onboarding, engagement, and management of the Corporate Advisory Council and relevant Board Working Groups (e.g., Endowment, Engagement). Ensure alignment between volunteer activities and GBFB’s strategic priorities, particularly in advancing corporate partnerships and long-term philanthropic initiatives. Facilitate communication between volunteer groups and internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity of goals, progress, and outcomes. Fundraising Strategy & Execution Collaborate with frontline fundraisers and the events team to support volunteer-driven fundraising campaigns, including peer-to-peer efforts and special events such as the Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast. Track and analyze volunteer fundraising performance, providing regular reporting and insights to inform strategy and optimize results. Conduct benchmarking and research on peer organizations to identify innovative engagement and fundraising practices. Donor & Volunteer Engagement Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteer fundraisers, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and relationship management. Partner with Donor Relations and Advancement Operations to support stewardship efforts, including acknowledgments, communications, and recognition initiatives. Empower volunteers to confidently represent GBFB’s mission and impact in their networks. Data Management & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer and donor engagement in Salesforce. Generate reports and dashboards to monitor progress against fundraising goals and inform Advancement senior management and volunteer stakeholders. Ensure data integrity by capturing and entering key interactions, notes, and outcomes from volunteer-led activities. Administrative & Operational Support Provide administrative support to committees and volunteer groups, including: Scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics Preparing and distributing agendas and materials Recording and sharing minutes, action items, and recommendations Tracking follow-ups and accountability against goals Support volunteer involvement in planning and executing events, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams. All other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications 5–7+ years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, or nonprofit development. Demonstrated success managing volunteer leaders or advisory groups tied to revenue generation. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and using data to drive decision-making. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate volunteers. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
