Overview

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This is an on-site position Monday – Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays and is based at Red Lobster’s corporate office in Orlando, FL.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Income Taxes oversees corporate income tax compliance, tax provision execution under ASC 740, and ongoing regulatory reporting to mitigate financial risks and optimize the company's tax position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and/or review the U.S. Federal, Canadian, state, and local income tax returns, while managing deliverables and tax payments with external consultants.
  • Establish and manage cross-functional workflows to efficiently gather accounting and operating data from internal departments; review all inputs for accuracy and reasonableness, translating raw financial data into tax-ready inputs for compliance filings.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive internal workpapers that clearly support company tax positions and provide a clear, easily identifiable audit trail.
  • Execute calculation and preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Manage and maintain internal controls related to income tax reporting, ensuring full procedural compliance and seamless partnership with external partners and auditors.
  • Serve as a tax resource to other departments across the organization, including HR, Payroll, Legal, and Operations, providing technical guidance, proactive tax research, and calculations
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of one direct report (Tax Analyst), balancing workload allocation, professional development, and accuracy checking.
  • Perform technical tax research on special projects and complex transactions, communicating findings and strategic recommendations clearly.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree in Taxation or LL.M. in Taxation, preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of progressive income tax experience, with an ideal blend of public accounting and large corporate tax department backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform significant amounts of preparation of tax analysis, showing heavy quantitative capabilities and data manipulation skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, US federal corporate tax law, multi-state filing frameworks, and basic international tax concepts.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical curiosity, attention to detail, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High level of discretion and integrity regarding confidential corporate, financial, and strategic data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
