What you will do
The Manager, Indirect Procurement (Hybrid) will serve as the primary procurement partner for the Orthopaedics Group, supporting Joint Replacement, Trauma & Extremities, and Ortho Tech across the U.S., as well as Stryker divisions in Canada. The primary focus will be Trauma & Extremities and Joint Replacement. In this role, you will lead sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and cost savings projects across indirect spend categories. You will partner with business leaders to review spending, identify opportunities for savings and efficiency, and implement sourcing strategies that support business objectives. You will negotiate favorable commercial terms, manage supplier relationships, and stay informed on market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies. You will also support procurement processes and serve as a liaison between Global Indirect Category Leads and the Orthopaedics Group to help align procurement priorities and business needs. While supporting procurement processes, day-to-day purchase order processing is not a core responsibility of this position. This role supports sourcing initiatives across the U.S. and Canada that drive value, manage risk, and support organizational goals. This is a hybrid role requiring regular on-site presence in Mahwah, NJ (preferred) or Weston, FL; Arlington, TN; or Kalamazoo, MI. Candidates should reside within a commutable distance of one of these locations.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract development to deliver value, manage risk, and support business objectives.
- Drive end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFx strategy, supplier evaluation, selection, and implementation.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to understand needs, address gaps, and identify procurement solutions.
- Analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier capabilities to uncover cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Develop and execute spend management strategies that maximize value and leverage purchasing power across the organization.
- Build and manage key supplier relationships, conducting regular business reviews and driving continuous improvement in cost, quality, and service.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify innovative solutions that improve efficiency and support business growth.
- Serve as a trusted procurement partner by aligning sourcing initiatives with divisional priorities and enterprise goals.
What you need
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, finance, or other relevant area of study.
- 8 years relevant work experience developing, negotiating, and implementing commercial contracts, including supply and service agreements.
- Experience in providing collaborative support, across multiple layers of management.
- Training in financial analysis, strategic analysis, negotiation skills and project management.
Preferred
- Master’s degree and/or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of procurement/strategic commodity management
- Subject matter expert level experience in multiple indirect procurement categories

- USN: $102,600 - $171,000 USD Annual
- US5: $107,700 - $179,600 USD Annual
- US10: $112,900 - $188,100 USD Annual
- US15: $118,000 - $196,600 USD Annual
- US20: $123,100 - $205,200 USD Annual
- US30: $133,400 - $222,300 USD Annual

Work Flexibility
- Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.
- Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.
- Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
- Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
