This role will work closely with the Product Development organization & with Global Marketing Excellence. The role owns research programs within an assigned business area, working under the direction of the Senior Manager and Director on enterprise prioritization and long-range insights strategy.
The ideal candidate pairs hands-on market research craft with working fluency in data and analytics, and can translate findings into clear, well-structured narratives that help business partners make decisions
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business partners to translate business questions into research plans for an assigned area of the business, spanning patient, provider, and market perspectives, and feed those plans into the broader insights roadmap owned by the Senior Manager and Director.
- Manage high-quality quantitative and qualitative primary research end to end, from vendor briefing through fielding, analysis, and readout, and ensure findings are communicated clearly to project stakeholders and adopted by the teams they serve.
- Synthesize behavioral, attitudinal, and usage data into clear findings and recommendations for business partners in the categories you support.
- Deliver insights that feed the innovation pipeline, product positioning, go-to-market planning, messaging, and claims. Execute discovery research, partner closely with User Research through iterative product optimization phases, and contribute research inputs to business cases for pipeline opportunities.
- Track the evolving competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and macro trends in diabetes care and digital health, and maintain the tracking and reporting that keeps stakeholders current.
- Blend traditional market research with analytics inputs such as usage data and behavioral modeling, and put forward clear recommendations and implications rather than data summaries.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with research vendors and agencies, and track project-level budgets and timelines against the annual budget set by leadership to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Business, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience uncovering actionable market insights that inform business decisions, with a focus on market research or strategic planning. Experience in healthcare, Medtech, or life sciences is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including segmentation, conjoint/discrete choice, journey mapping, and brand tracking.
- Solid understanding of data integration, triangulation, and storytelling—comfortable drawing insights from a variety of sources, including analytics dashboards, syndicated data, and user research.
Preferred:
- Experience in diabetes care, medical devices, or digital health.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools or platforms (e.g., Tableau, R, SPSS, SQL) is a plus.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance, IRB, or regulatory considerations in research.
