Job Responsibilities
- Lead the Drafting Center of Competence (CoC) supporting multiple product value streams with high-quality, on-time engineering drawing deliverables.
- Establish and manage the CoC operating model, including work intake, capacity planning, resource allocation, delivery governance, quality management, and performance reporting.
- Own organizational planning activities including budgeting, headcount planning, workforce forecasting, and resource utilization.
- Drive execution across multiple engineering programs, value streams, and CAD environments while collaborating with global stakeholders across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Lead and develop a multi-vendor engineering workforce, including onboarding, capability development, performance management, and supplier governance.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, cycle time, capacity utilization, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve engineering efficiency, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain drafting standards, best practices, quality systems, and governance processes across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with intellectual property protection, engineering data security, regulatory requirements, and vendor management processes.
- Develop and execute a long-term capability roadmap, expanding the organization from drafting execution to advanced design support services such as 3D modeling, BOM creation, engineering documentation, and product lifecycle support.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 10-14 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, industrial automation, or other complex engineered products.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering organizations, programs, or Centers of Excellence in a matrixed, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven track record of building and scaling operational processes through governance, metrics, dashboards, performance management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, drafting standards, manufacturability, BOM structures, drawing release processes, CAD platforms, and PLM systems.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams and collaborating across multiple regions and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2-4 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation systems, or other highly engineered products.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, plastics, piping, cable and harness assemblies, panels, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturability, supplier engagement, production-quality expectations, and engineering change management processes.
- Experience driving engineering productivity through automation, digital transformation, AI-enabled workflows, or process optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with global engineering collaboration models across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
