Who we are:
Detroit PBS is Michigan’s largest and most-watched public television station serving Southeastern Michigan and serves the most diverse public television audience in the country. Detroit PBS is also the state’s only community-licensed station, meaning it operates independent of any educational, government or other institution. Its funding comes from the community it serves.
Each week more than two million people watch our five broadcast channels, and nearly 200,000 people listen to our radio station, 90.9 WRCJ for classical days and jazzy nights. In addition, Detroit PBS is building the next generation of public media with our rapidly growing digital presence, which has grown to reach more than half a million unique visitors through our website, YouTube channels, and social media platforms each month.
Our core values: excellence, innovation, trust, diversity, engagement and financial sustainability are evident in everything we do. From the engaging content we provide to the way we work with viewers, supporters, board members and employees, to the local events we host, Detroit PBS connects with thousands of our fellow community members each year.

The Opportunity
We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in Wixom, MI, in a hybrid work structure.
Detroit PBS and 90.9 WRCJ are seeking an experienced, results-driven Manager, Multiplatform Marketing to lead integrated campaigns that promote content, grow audiences, deepen engagement, and support membership acquisition and retention.
This hands-on role develops marketing plans and manages execution across broadcast, digital, email, social, paid media, and on-demand platforms. Working with colleagues, shared resources, and vendors, the manager translates programming and organizational priorities into clear campaign objectives, coordinated workflows, compelling messaging, and measurable results.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong execution, content promotion, and project management skills. They can prioritize competing demands, build productive relationships across departments, and connect programming, community engagement, and institutional marketing to sustained audience relationships and financial support.
Why This Role Matters:
Detroit PBS and 90.9 WRCJ connect people with trusted journalism, education, arts, music, and community stories. This role helps audiences discover that content, understand its value, and make it part of their lives.
By bringing focus, coordination, and accountability to marketing, the Multiplatform Marketing Manager builds sustained audience relationships that strengthen engagement, membership, and support for our public service.
Essential Functions
- Integrated Campaign Leadership: Own campaigns from planning through evaluation. Establish objectives, target audiences, messaging, channel strategies, budgets, timelines, and measures of success for Detroit PBS and 90.9 WRCJ content and organizational priorities.
- Content & Programming Promotion: Develop and execute campaigns for local and national programming, series, specials, and digital content. Coordinate launches and ongoing promotion with Content, Programming, and Production colleagues to drive viewing, listening, streaming, and continued engagement.
- Marketing Operations & Prioritization: Maintain an integrated marketing calendar and coordinate project intake, campaign briefs, kickoff meetings, assignments, approvals, and delivery. Establish clear responsibilities and deadlines, identify resource conflicts, and recommend priorities in partnership with the Vice President.
- Cross-Platform Campaign Execution: Coordinate timely, cohesive campaigns across on-air, websites, email, social media, paid advertising, and on-demand platforms. Work with channel owners to align tactics, maintain quality, and improve performance.
- Audience Development & Engagement: Develop campaigns that increase PBS App adoption and streaming, newsletter subscriptions, and 90.9 WRCJ listening across platforms. Create pathways that encourage audiences to discover more content, return regularly, and build lasting relationships with both brands.
- Membership Marketing: Partner with Membership and Development to support member acquisition, retention, sustaining giving, and ongoing engagement. Coordinate audience journeys and campaigns that communicate member value, connect support to community impact, and encourage continued participation.
- Paid Media & Budget Management: Plan, execute, and optimize paid advertising across digital and traditional platforms. Manage campaign budgets and vendors, monitor spending and performance, and recommend adjustments to improve results.
- Creative & Messaging Alignment: Develop clear creative briefs and collaborate with communications, design, content, and production colleagues to deliver consistent, brand-aligned assets. Translate content themes and organizational priorities into compelling audience messaging that communicates relevance, public service, and impact.
- Campus, Community & Partnership Marketing: Coordinate marketing support for the Fred and Barbara Erb Public Media Campus, community events, partnerships, and other institutional initiatives. Align these efforts with broader audience engagement, membership, and fundraising priorities.
- Campaign Measurement & Optimization: Define campaign KPIs, monitor results, and translate findings into actionable improvements. Partner with the Audience Insights Manager or designated analytics support on reporting and analysis. This role owns campaign measurement and the application of insights; data infrastructure and organization-wide reporting are separate responsibilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build productive working relationships with Content, Programming, Production, Membership, Development, Education, and other departments. Coordinate with Multiplatform Marketing colleagues responsible for digital platforms, newsletters, social media, communications, and creative services to keep campaigns aligned and moving forward.
