Manager, Retail Marketing

Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for Manager, Retail Marketing to join our growing team. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 40 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. The stores are uniquely zoned by key sports categories which include; SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, beach, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Men, Women & Kids) & SD Outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping & fishing). The Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of all retail marketing activities, including planning, budgeting, execution, and continuous improvement to drive retail sales. This role will also lead and supervise the Designers team in producing high quality marketing materials, while ensuring effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders. Strategic Planning & Calendar Management Develop and manage the annual retail trade calendar Plan, strategize, and evaluate retail marketing activations, identifying opportunities for improvement Campaign & Promotion Management Lead the Retail Marketing team in executing strategic retail promotions, campaigns, events, and advertising initiatives with precision and efficiency Develop in-store marketing strategies and point-of-sale materials to enhance the customer shopping experience Ensure annual sales targets are met through tactical and data-driven marketing strategies Collaboration & Partnerships Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to develop impactful marketing strategies Identify opportunities for brand visibility through partnerships and joint marketing initiatives Budget & Performance Management Manage the A&P budget to maximize ROI Monitor, analyse, and report on campaign performance, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement Operational & Team Leadership Oversee multiple divisions, including mall marketing, mailroom, and design & creative teams Manage day-to-day operational and administrative functions to ensure seamless execution of marketing activities Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve departmental goals Other Responsibilities Handle ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by Line Manager or/and Management Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or a related field Have a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in marketing, preferably within the sports retail industry Strong understanding of promotional activities, mall events, and retail activations Keen eye for effective design and attention to detail Strong analytical skills with high numerical accuracy Excellent leadership, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills Exceptional communication and coordination skills Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment An OPPORTUNITY like this at Frasers Group is for the FEARLESS!
